    Default It's about time...

From what I have been reading, over the last month or so (approximately) players of free to play and pay to play have been having continued issues of varying sorts. Some have been handled, but the majority of the ones not handled, are issues players can not seem to fix. So maybe it is about time for the developers and technical team to actual help us, rather then pass their responsibilities off to players to fix.

This treatment is neither acceptable or appreciated. Many players have voiced their opinions, others possibly sit quietly, hoping it just goes away or is fixed, some may not be having issues at all, but for the technical support team to treat free or paying players this way is rude and offensive. The fact that you can afford such behavior to paying players makes me wonder what you truly feel or think of the value of the free to play accounts.

At the very least you could make some pathetic attempt to communicate here on the boards. No matter how busy you get a simple post of acknowledgment to us all, covering the different issues, and saying you are working take you less then an hour. Plus, with all the twitter, my-place, and his-face stuff out there it is now effectively cheap, easy, and quick to update us on the advancement of these issues being resolved.

    I TOTALLY agreed with you.
I posted my problem about a weird lag and NO ONE of the technical assistance helped me...
I'm still waiting for a solution...

What exactly are you talking about?

Many devs and many players are extremely helpful on these forums. Turbine cannot be expected to troubleshoot and repair everyone who has an out of date computer, Virus Infection, or massive amounts of SPam/Spyware on their PC's.

You are right about that, but how do they already know that those are the issues? A lack of response by them is then to be held as a herald to them being psychically able to know for a FACT what the issue is?

My computer is not outdated, in fact it runs both WoW and Left 4 Dead 2 at its best graphics abilities without a hick up. Yet I get this weird freezing issue when I only play DDO. It is recent in fact, and I did look into it myself, checking drivers, cookies, virus scan, blah-blah-blah. When I exerted all of my resources and realized it is not coming from me or my internet provider. I asked Turbine for help, and as I sit here paying a monthly charge I am to wait 1-2 weeks for a response. That is ridiculous, for people who pay to expect to happily sit by for a week or two, some I have read months upon months, not playing the game for the tech support to help us.

I am paying for a service, and if a service is not delivered then one should be reimbursed. I do however admit, some issues do come along, servers being, hackers, and unexpected delays from implementing patches/updates. Yet for people to have an ongoing problem that has not been resolved for over a week plus, where they cannot play/enjoy the product/service they have purchased is unacceptable.

Many issues of varying types have come up recently, and continue to go unresolved, and yet we are, as far as I can guess, expected to sit by here and hope on good faith that tomorrow I will be able to enjoy the game I pay for. For some people that continues to extend on and on, and the reason it is on faith is because no one is communicating to us, even truly acknowledging our problems. Yet we do as they ask, they leave us no phone number that actually goes anywhere, they ask us to post it here, seek help from others first, then the tech support. So we do, and we wait...

So I need an issue then, posted here? Are there not plenty enough here already, I emailed mine in, I am sure many have, but when I search this "knowledge base" for answers, I find many unresolved and waiting issues, recent ones.

Also, before you jump to it, I never said I posted my problem here. I said I have an issue with this so called technical help the give us. My question to you now: Do they pay you to defend them and resolve their issues with their game?

no, I dont get paid.... I often complain about turbine myself when I experience a problem first hand.

I have issues with people who complain for the sake of complaining. Many issues do get resolved in the Tech support forum. Unfortunately, more people provide incomplete or just irrelevant information instead of whats actually needed to help them.

RIght now, Turbine is experiencing 1/2-2 week turn around on emails.. Its been talked about in several threads. It sucks... but they are backed up.... email is NOT a good medium for issue sliek that though. More immediate feedback is required to help people. you just cant do that in an email.

I also find most people asking for help get rather indignant when anyone ever mentions the possibility that the problem does exist on their end rather than it being an issue with the game. this doesnt help matters at all... Regardless of where the problem exists, you NEED to go through all the trouble shooting steps in order to isolate the issue. getting bent because someone asks you what Virus software your running doesnt help and make me an I'm sure Turbine staff members unexcited to try to help you.

I'm sorry, but I dont believe you have a right to complain about Forum based Tech support when you havent actually tried to use it yourself. You post vague complaints about not getting updates, but turbine has indeed updated us on several matters over the past months.

I have absolute right to complain here, because:
1.) I pay them for a working game.
2.) TURBINE sent me here stating I could find answers, yet all I find is a lack there of.

I can agree about people being to touchy on the subject of being walked through the standard diagnostic steps. No matter what company you deal with for this sort of situation you will always be walked through those step, that is why it is best to just write them down and do them your self, submit the information along with your issues and see what happens.

I am however not complaining for the sake of complaining, I am speaking my mind on a matter that many, as I have been reading, feel similarly if not the same about. If Turbine is offended or angered by this, then maybe they should take a step back and look at all the comments, complaints and issues and see if its really NOT THEM and is just us being moody and ignorant of how to use our computers. I do admit they are out there, I used to work in the video game field and I still cringe at some comments and questions.

In truth ranting, as this is, not complaining, just a rant, maybe I should have made that clear I am sorry. Is just to make people feel better, get everyone yelling and screaming about what makes them made, because, what happens after you yell and scream at the top of your lungs? Usually, your not so angry, you got it off you chest, and in a forum, you don't always feel alone anymore, thinking your the only that feels that way, and sometimes, just once in awhile, people in Turbines position do actually get useful information out of it.

Nothing like an angry mob to get the juices flowing and active.

Now the hard part is for people to keep it controlled, not loose them selves to bolstered amounts of pointless swearing and invalidated comments and ramblings.

There is help here, and much friendly community of people who care and assist others, I do agree with you on that. Anyone would if they ever spent an hour on the WoW forum boards. The problem here is, some people have submitted everything they need to, gotten useless responses, and have been unable to play a game they pay for over large periods of time, and the tech help just stops responding, not even and admittance of failure or comment on looking into a persons issues. That is unacceptable, and that is what I speak out on, I don't need to endure something to know it is wrong or to comment on it, especially if my comments and points are valid, and I am able to keep things civil and clean.

Quite the feeling of self importance still with no hint of what your issue is other than you like to read the text of your own horrid experience.

    *shrugs, and moves along.*
