    Default Noobie monk question!!

    Hi,

I just rolled a drow monk starting lvl4(vet status) >>dark type>>path of shadow!!
I am completely new to monk thingy.....

I have a few questions.. rather silly questions i guess

1.I have all the enhancements of elements and also fist of darkness..But could not figureout the finishing moves for my monk....How to make one?
2.I have observed that i couldn't hurt much when fighting with zombies why?
3.I usually fight without any weapon...but when chosen one i am bit slow compared to without it..is der any particular enhancement needed to improve it?
4.Can I ever get an enchancement to gain my hp?

    Thanks in advance =)

    1. Finishers are done by using one of your elemental attacks 3 times. Also, if you have Fist of Darkness, you can do something like Fire, FoD, Fire; or Water, FoD, Water. There are several lists of finishers in the forums, along with what they do.

    2. Zombies have damage reduction against blunt weapons, which are what your fists are, you'll need to carry a set of kama's, which are slashing, those will bypass the DR.

    3. Fighting with weapons is going to be slower than using your fists, due to Flurry of Blows, you can go into wind stance which will help a little, but will still generally be slower.

    4. If you pick up the Toughness feat, you will open up an enhancement line for Toughness that will add extra hitpoints.

The only weapons a monk should ever use are handwraps, kamas, and shurikens if you absolutely have to range something.

Wow, the editor doesn't recognize handwraps, kamas, or shurikens as words.

    1. to get finishing moves you have to make combos with the elemental and aligment strikes first. view the monk page in the compendium for all the finishers
    2. zombies have a dr of 10 or so against blunt damage. fists do blunt damage, so you do 10 less damage each hit
    3. fists have an inherit faster attackspeed then weapons
    4. the way of the tortoise gives hp. otehr then that you can get the toughness feat to unlock the thoughness enhancements

    €: too slow, bah

You sure it's 10? I was doing damage with 1d6+0.

Normal zombies have DR of 5/slashing. Dread zombies appear to have DR of 10/slashing. Either way my main hurts them bare handed (1d10+13 or 14 damage per hit). It's faster to just switch to kama.

Does damage from Pure Good bypass it?

the pure good portion does, but your base damage is still reduced if its not a slashing weapon
