    Default First Crack at FVS Healer

    I'm taking my first shot at a Pure FVS Healer and I did my best to build this with reading the various posts and what not but I'm sure i've made a few mistakes and any criticism or feedback would help me alot. Thanks for reading. Also i'm not entirely sure how to post this off the character planner so i just copied and pasted it.

    Yeah, I'd recommend ditching Toughness 4 for it.

    I'd be vastly more inclined to drop the entire Smiting line. Toughness IV is too important; the number of spells that Smiting even works on is really small...and Blade Barrier isn't one of them.

    One thing that caught my eye was your stat distribution:

    Starting Feat/Enhancement
    Abilities Base Stats Modified Stats

    Intelligence 10 12
    Wisdom 17 25
    Charisma 14 19

    You are ending up with a lot of odd numbers there that have no value unless you are planning on using odd valued stat items (+1, +3, +5). You might consider taking 1 point from Str, Con, and Cha to add to Wis so that you end up with 12/12/16/12/26/18. Just a thought

    Ok.. i guess i was under the impression that the gear came in odd increments, like 3, 5, 7. But now i see that's skill boosts and the upper end items are +6. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I'm glad I'm waiting a week to make this toon so that i don't mess up so badly and waste time end up with a funky toon.

    well you can even out the odd numbers with greensteel items, they can give +1 or +2 exceptional stats. But that includes a lot more planning.

    Is UMD really worth getting for FVS since most of the "healing/curing" wands can be used without the UMD check..

    Or is it more for fitting gear that is class specific?

    It's mostly for race restricted items, since it seems a decent item (say, a holy burst silver scimitar of greater lawful outsider bane) refuses to show up without being race restricted to the race that you aren't.

    It's also useful for certain arcane wands/scrolls...stoneskin (until you get the capstone, which is superior), fireshield, teleport, repair X, haste, etc.

    Default My changes

    My pure-healer FvS got to 20 and I may True Reincarnate with a few minor adjustments.
    My starting CHA was a bit high and I understand it only affects the SP by 39 at end-game for every 2 points of CHA. I think starting with 12-14 CHA is good. I'm gonna go 11 or 12, and raise my WIS, and possibly CON.

    Just my 2-cents.

    PS: The free cure light spell at 20 is kind of nice. Generally heals for 50-60, but can crit for 150+. The cooldown is a bit long (6 secs), but I understand why they did that.
