Need to download again?

I have been playing DDO with no problem since downloading it on 11/11/09.

Tonight I tried to start the game up using the launcher, a download option is all I get.

My concerns are:

WHY do I seemingly need to download the game again?

IF I do download the game, will I be able to play my character, or will I have to start all over again?

My folder with DDO in it is still in my PC. I do not think it is corrupted in any way.

PLEASE HELP!

Can't answer the whether or not to download again question for sure, but I would go to program files>Turbine and look for a DDO folder. If it is not there, it may have been deleted somehow. One thing for sure is that you will not lose your character. Characters on all the servers are bound to your account and stored in a database, not your machine, so your character will always be safe

Yes, the files are still in C drive.

Downloading the game again.

It is going to take at least 6 hours, whereas it originally took only 20 or so minutes the first time.

Won't be playing tonight.
