Just wanted to say that I've returned to DDO when the F2P went live and I have been delightfully surprised with how much I have enjoyed the new format. I've probably spent more than two months sub cost in the past couple months at the DDO store but I like the fact that I can leave the game aside when I get busy with life and not have to worry about a continuing sub.
Ok, that all being said I have some suggestions that I believe are going to have to be the one of the first things that the Devs should look at.
That is of the addition of classes and races. This was also my main suggestion when I left the game years ago and it does concern me that in all that time they have only accomplished the adding of monks and the favored soul class and no new races (drow were added soon after when I was still playing). We simply have got to have more character options, especially the base classes and races from D+D. Half-elves, Half-Orc (a must) plus it would be a good idea to add Eladrin, Aasimar and Tiefling. Dragonborn would be nice but honestly even I would admit, would take too long and have too much impact on the game.
Having experience in other MMOs I can tell you that races are generally fairly easy to add to a game but Classes can be tricky so I do understand the DEVs reluctance to add Druids. However, they would be nice to have and for all of you that are concerned about them, Druids in D+D are not the overpowered monsters that they are in other games, they really are just a different type of cleric.
The addition of new Races however would really give the game a shot in the arm that it needs. I know the DEVs are looking at a DM tool which does sound cool but really, focus on more racial choices first and "Finish" at least the basic D+D stuff first that you needed to do 4 years ago. Right now, for example, to play a "strong-guy" character your only option is WF and not only do you have to pay for them but it also adds many more difficulties in play style that a player may not want to deal with. The addition of the half-orc would solve this.
Well, other than that keep up the good work and thank you for having the courage in making the bold move you have made and congrats on the success!
