    Default Evasion feat for casters

My main is a wizard now lvl 12, i have a rogue as well. is it possible to get the evasion feat as a wizard? i just feated into intellectual reflexs which makes my int act as dex does for a rogue in reflex saves. but without evasion it still does half damage. can it be done?

You can get evasion by taking 2 rogue levels, 2 monk levels or 9 ranger levels .. 18/2 wizard/rogue is a very popuilar multiclass build, though taking rogue at lv 1 is best for the bonus skill points, you could easily do it now: just make sure you max out the use magic device skill with all your rogue skill points, so that you can heal yourself in the endgame. It's a v ery survivable character build.

It can be done if you take 2 levels of rogue or monk or 9 (i think) levels of ranger. Other then that there is no other way.
there's one thing you never put in a trap if you're smart. If you value your continued existence. If you have any plans on seeing tomorrow then there's one thing you never, ever put in a trap.

i used to think it is better to take the rog level in level one and I have a lowbie wiz/rog that take rog in level 1, but recently, a friend of mine who is an experienced wiz/rog true reincarnated and take his rog level only after level 10. (forgotten at which level) he told me he can maximize his skills in that way.

Yes but he missed out on the extra skill points a rogue gets at character creation.

let me try to look at this, let's say it is a WF Wiz18/Rog2:
    • umd, concentration are top priority; search, disable device, open lock are 2nd tier. balance, move silently etc. are bonus. 1 point in tumbling. there is no harm to get more in hide and spot.
    • initial int is 18. it gives 48 points to a rog 1, or 24 points to a wiz 1.
    • for lv 1-3, the int should still be 18, and the rog and wiz will get 12 and 6 skill points respectively. remarks: they could eat the tome only after level'd up to 3, so it benefits them in level 4.
    • for lv 4-7, they could eat a +1 tome and with enhancement, the int should be 20, and they have 13 and 7 points respectively
    • for lv 8+, they could eat a +2 tome, and with enhancement, the int should be 22, and they have 14 and 8 points respectively
    • i'm too lazy to calculate the +3 tome and more enhancement.

if one takes the first level as rog, he definitely get more overall skill points, but the 48 points are more than enough to cover all desirable skills and result as "wastage". With 24 points for wiz 1, it is enough to max out UMD, Concentration, Search, Open Lock, Disable Device, and perhaps Balance. If it is enough, taking the rog level after level 1 actually give you 6 more points to spend.

so it comes to a comparison of whether you want an extra 24 points at the first level, or 6 points after the first level. It seems to me it is question of whether you want to max out certain skills, or you want more in total skill points.
