Since '79 and the red basic book, it was race was a class, then the AD&D rules opened it up to 3 multi, am I right?

Bad idea. And not true to D&D at all. Double bad idea.
1st and 2nd Edition did offer the awesome ability of fighter/mage/thief and fighter/mage in the elven heritage among other deadly combinations.
In other words, yes.
3.0/3.5 offers multi-classing options where some characters may even have 4-5 classes pending on the build. My favorites are typically fighter-rogue or fighter-cleric hybrids mixed in with 2 prestige classes.

Well after the other guy hit 3 red boxes I didn't see him post anymore.
Apparently what happens is if the rep goes neg enough every post hits the moderators eyes for review and at some point every post is suspended until the mod approves it, effectively banning them from posting unless they have a real attitude shift.

AD&D also allowed dual classing for humans. I don't rember dual classing being in the boxed set. I think the boxed set also required demi-humans to have some sort of multi-class skills....but I don't rember off the top of my head and all my stuff is packed until I move later this week. We also tended to use a house rule set with stuff comming from older material and AD&D rule set.
I really liked dual classing my humans. I always did. Some don't and most of the DMs that I have talked to about this didn't care for it or let their human players use it. If you built right you could have a really powerful character. I always had good DMs that factored that sort of stuff in.
I think he left. I thought I saw a post of his stating that he was leaving.
Regarding neg rep...Do people give it out just because they don't like the idea or is it just because someone deserves it because they are being ****ish.
Unless the moderators had gotten to his origional post in this thread I don't think his post was trollish...just a bad idea.
Disappointed and without trust in the powers that be.
