Default Lose aggro when you lose a monster

As a rogue, too often I have managed to get away from a monster, or group of monsters, only to sneak back into that place and have them all come right back after me.

I think that if you manage to lose a monster to the point where they are no longer chasing you and no longer have LOS, that you should lose the aggro from that monster.

It drives me crazy that I can sneak right next to a monster with no problems, but if I open a door, get aggroed, run like hell until I am half way across the map with nothing following me anymore, and then sneak back to the room again, only to have every single thing in there begin attacking me again as though I just ran back in screaming and banging drums.

You gotta stop playin' your super-hero theme music when you sneak! That's for after you've already killed the mobs!

    But yeah, seriously, I agree.

This was true in module 9 (ability to lose monster aggro completely), but when we got the update with Epic difficulty this got screwed up.

I hate the fact that I can sneak up on a monster, blind him and runoff to the other side of the map only to have him blindly chase me and walking backwards no less, to the exact spot I happen to be hiding. And for a blind monster or caster they have incredible aim.

Yeah. Before I had blindness ward items on all my toons, whenever I'd get blinded I couldn't find anything at all, let alone hit stuff!

But when my cleric casts blind on something, not only is it able to follow me around, but it can spin around 3 times and still manage to hit me!

Ya, I was actually testing this earlier today. I found that even if I left the quest and then came back in, monsters would stay agro'd on me. I found you don't even have to go into the same room as them, or within normal hearing range even. I also found that there is a certain range beyond which no matter what you do, they will not agro.

I have also learned that if you put a firewall on a single target in a room, then dimension door out, every monster in the room will all move towards the one taking damage in the firewall. They treat it now like they are hearing noise, similar to a noisy player trying to sneak by, and they all go to investigate.

Perhaps I shouldn't be talking about all this, as there is a lot of opportunity to take advantage of the way AI is now, but I honestly liked the old system where it was actually possible to lose agro.
