Default Do you ever think: Why do I need these other guys?

You know the groups I'm talking about, where the rogue is super squishy, and the barbarian keeps blowing up the exploding barrels, and the paladin uses sword-and-board without intimidate.

You're spending all your mana on heals, when you could just throw down a max-empowered blade barrier and start throwing around destruction and slay living. And sometimes you do that and just let the non-healers die...oopsie.

I am finding that since I hit level 11 on my cleric, I have been thinking that (the subject line) more and more...I do enjoy playing with others, but when the group is sub-optimal...I just feel like soloing in an outdoor area, and not dealing with the chuckleheads.

Now if they're really that bad, then no you don't need them.

While I don't normally advocate suddenly not healing the group to do your own thing, incredible stupidity is the exception. The barbarian blows up the barrel in his face, let him heal his own wounds. You'll kill more stuff than he will anyways when you throw down that Maximized Extended Blade Barrier and watch stuff melt.

its true that you have to adjust your play style for groups n solo... as a cleric you could take out more mobs faster if you do the ol solo tactic (grab as much as you can and bb). its completely possible for you to charge ahead in a group although you'll be stealing everyone's fun. if you don't charge ahead you won't have the sp to do it (1-2 mobs at a time is very inefficient for any aoe caster... not to mention the group wont kite through/around bb)

so my advice is... do the solo thing when you solo or the group is weak

if you're the guide you can do it alot easier... ie: tell everyone to run through and aoe at the end (eg: trial by fire spiders... but that ones usually a given)

if i don't know the quest then i sit back, heal, melee and watch whats happening

personally if given a choice i fill my dungeon groups up with casters unless something specifically requires melees/evasion of some sort
