    Default Arcane Kensei Tempest - Am I missing anything?

    I was interested in running a Kensei/Tempest/Knight of the Chalice, but the character's feats start stretching thin. This is my replacement: an arcane (Wizard 1) Kensei (Fighter 8) Tempest (Ranger 11). My only question is....the evasion the Ranger gets at 11, is that useable in heavy armor?

    Evasion, regardless of source doesn't work in heavy armor.

    Ok, accounting for only light armor to use evasion at Ranger 9, I switched from Dwarven to Warforged and now use Khopeshes instead of Dwarven Waraxes. I was hoping for a little more critiquing from the community about this build or if this build has already been posted on the boards.

    It might help if you tell people what exactly you are trying to accomplish with this build and why you took 10 levels of ftr 9 ranger and 1 wiz.

    Usually people will stop at 12 ftr for the 2nd tier of either kensai or stalwart. Stopping at 10seems to be cutting it short.

    If your going for evasion, there's better choices to get it faster. Like 2 rogue or 2 monk.

    I can see taking 1 level of Wiz on a WF, but you also were going to take it ona Dwarf. What's the purpose you envision for the 1 level of Wiz. Seems like it's not really that useful.

    I would suggest the more common build 12 Ftr/6 Rgr/2 Rog.

    I took the Wizard level for the bonus feat of Evasion, as well as the spell point boost, and being able to use arcane wands. 9 levels of ranger was primarily for the evasion, and I was either going to go to 8 or 9 for the second level Ranger spells. That left me with the 10 levels of fighter.

    I primarily wanted a Kensei / Tempest TWF build with either Dwarven Waraxes or Khopeshes, and getting the TWF and iTWF feats for free at 2 and 6 was optimal. I was able to get Tempest I at the 6th level of Ranger, but if I stopped there I would not get any 2nd level ranger spells. I guess my other option would be to go 12 Fighter/6 Ranger/2 Rogue. Would this give me enough skill points to get UMD up high enough to be more reliable? At what levels should I take Rogue at to get the most out of the skill points then?

    After being away from the game for several years, and only playing straight classes then, the builds have definitely gotten more complicated. Thanks.

    Any rogue splash should be done at first level for the skill points then if a second level should be done at about lvl 8-9 imo

    Try looking at the builds listed by Tanimal under Fighter .I think any of them will accomplish what you are looking for and are all decent builds

    Most people say 8-9 because they want evasion before gianthold. If you're really looking to max skill points then they should wait till 13.

    You get some really good free feats at ranger 11 (Greater Two weapon fighting, Precise Shot, Improved Precise Shot), plus your resist energy spell maxes out at 11 (you get 30 points of resistance at 11).

    Going from fighter 8 to fighter 10 gets you an extra feat...

    I would definitely go 11/8/1 ranger/fighter/wizard instead of 9/10/1
