should i multi-class my Cleric or Should i have it Be Pure? Sorry if this is a newb question!
well i want to make it a good healer and a good damage doer but i have no idea what to do
Stay pure and go for healing at lower levels. In the mid-level range, you can crowd control with spells like greater command, sound blast, and others. At the higher levels, you can then go for dps through casting spells and insta-kills.
The enhancements and feats for healing can also increase your light spell damages and you will have enough action points to boost your dps spells as well.
But if you are looking for dps at lower levels, then you might want to look into multiclassing and go battle cleric. It really depends on the type of damage you are looking to do. Melee or casting?
I would say go either Human or Drow (prolly human), healing/divine caster. Max Wisdom, Str and Con next, then dex and/or charisma. (I'm really no good at posting builds, sorry.) Your Spells come from Wisdom, Str and con cuz ya gotta be able to move around in FP and take a hit or two, charisma is good for DV's. Dex.. eh, int not really needed.
Feats (IMHO): Mental toughness, extend, empower, empower healing, maximize, spell pen.
so, i should go with the scourge of the dead? and if so which race is best?
Try this link, I think it will be to your liking...

Human is best because it's hard to screw up. You will get a bonus feat and a line of enhancements that will increase your stats.
I would suggest feats:
mental toughness
improved mental toughness
extend
maximize (works on heal and blade barriers, empower heal does not work well with bb)
quicken
You can go with a pre-made build or go ahead and customize. Just remember, Wisdom should be maxed, con should not be lower than 14, strength needs a little love, and charisma if you decide to go with divine vitality. The Turn Undead only works up to Delara's if you max Charisma but it does nothing after that so don't even try it. Dex will increase your AC but honestly, you will never get it high enough to help. Int is to increase the skill points you will be given at level.
Summary of important build stats:
Wisdom - max
Con - min of 14
Str - put some points here
Cha - only if you plan to use diplo, dv's
Int - to increase skill points
Dex - increases tumble and AC
Note on Skill points:
Heal skill: completely useless
Balance: this will get you up faster after being tripped
Jump: do not put more than 10 into Jump. Yes, cleric can't jump but the game max's jump out at 40 and an arcane's jump spell with max at 30.
Diplomacy: used to make mobs look for someone else to attack besides you
My sig has a link to a series of cleric builds.
I recommend the offensive-caster cleric to most players - it heals well, at low level it can put an ogre on the ground before the ogre gets to swing at any party members by using the spell Command (ogres can kill players from full health with one critical hit at low level) and can massively reduce damage taken by casting Soundburst in crowds.
At mid level it picks up the potent crowd control spell Greater Command and the devastating Bladebarrier. Higher still you will gain Destruction, Implosion, and of course every healing spell.
I don't have a zerging problem.
I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.
Clerics get their spells every odd lvl. So at 1, 3, 5, 7 ect. I have built my cleric to be a pure healer first, everything else a big second. I have spent all my enchantment points on increasing my wis, spell points and healing ability. Right now I have the enchantments that increase your healing spells by %10 each to the 4th one, so thats %40. Couple that with empowered healing for another %50 and my greater devotion IV shield (that gives another %40) my char is a healing machine. Also I have the enchantments that give my healing spells a chance to crit for a 1.75 multiplier. My cure serious spell regularly heals over 100 and I have had my cure moderate spells heal for around 100. So if you want to be a pure healer I would suggest NO multi-classing, use your enchantment points on increasing your healing spells including crit possibility and increasing spell points and wis.
Also your equipment should reflect your enchantments. Look for power, wiz, or magi item to get more spell points (remember these do not stack). Also look for a devotion which will increase your healing spells (some say get potency item because it increases both damage and heal spells, only giving info from my experiences and what I use). And of course a wis item.
