Default WF Titan observations in the Forge

Just wanted to post some of my observations regarding the Twilight Forge. I'm hoping that people will either read and criticize, or read and learn.

    1. If you're not the ONE person assigned to the bottom pillars, stay away from them. There's no need for 2 people to be prepping them, as it's a one-person job. In general, I prefer this person to be able to heal themselves. A balance in the 30s, FoM/Warforged, and Deathward are all good ideas, but not vital. Don't use a 2-handed weapon to avoid dropping the pillar in a random direction (Thanks, AD)

    2. Disintegrate is great way to drop the top pillarr, except it causes them to not register as being "dead". Use a ranged weapon for the coup de grace. The preferred method is to have the rangers use Improved Precise Shot to take 4 pillars down at a time, by targetting the last pillar and firing through all 4 at once.

    3. Only run the bottom crystals for the first 2 hits. Go into sneak mode as you climb the steps (regardless of your skill in Hide/MS), and leave sneak mode as you come off the steps with the crystal in your pack. You need to have FoM or be a WF, and Deathward/self-healing. Stay the **** away from the Titan, please, and stay on the gunner's platform while the gun is charged.

    4. The gunner needs to have a balance in the high 30s (prefer 40s), and I recommend staying in sneak mode (seems to prevent being thrown off the platform). Click on the Titan, and check where the circle under him appears when you are lining up the laser. Verbally confirm that you're ready every time the crystal is loaded, and check the charge after you move the crystal (and as often as you can).

I prefer to have the gunner run the first 2 crystals, since the gunner won't be doing anything at this point anyway.

    5. Top runners could use Electric resist, and evasion/self healing sure helps. A balance in the 40s is a good idea, high 30s a minimum. Don't drop down to load the crystal, just walk to the edge of the catwalk and click on the sphere to load it. Stand at the junctions if your balance skill is lower, and line up with one of the rafters so you don't get thrown off (thanks, Aspenor)

    6. If you aren't assigned to the bottom pillars, stay off of the ground floor if you don't want the Titan to move. I've been on the ladder, and I know it's tempting to hop off for a quick heal/potion/LOH/etc..., but if your balance isn't up to snuff you stand a good chance at flying down to the floor, having the Titan stomp after you, and waste one of the pillars. If you do fly off on accident, find the nearest ladder and grab on, or stay under the laser and take one for the team.

If you can make it to the top crystal room without falling down, you can stay there in safety until the Titan is destroyed, at which time the shield door will drop so you can get your chest.

If you die, someone will (likely) raise you... unless you are screwing up the raid. In that case, they'll probably move your stone to the far side just so you know the lack of a raise was deliberate.

You really only need 1 person with high balance to run crystals on top. If you have a low balance and you are on top (not running crystals, presumably) you can stand at any + junction of the rafters. Make sure to stand facing directly parallel with one of the rafters. When the Titan slams the floor and you are tossed to a random direction, you will only be thrown either directly forward, backward, left, or right. Using positioning and facing, you should never be tossed off the rafters.

Thank you! You also reminded me about using the top crystal room as a safe haven.

Seems like a pretty safe way to run Titan.. Incredibly boring for most of the people in the group.. But at least safe....

Of course, I'm wondering how you've ever completed if you dont have anyone prepping the tops of the pillars.

This is more of a tips/hints post than a walkthrough. That seemed...well...blatantly obvious to me.

This information could be outdated, and I certainly haven't checked it in a while, but:
Do not chop the bottom pillars with a two-handed weapon. If the pillar is killed by a glancing hit (instead of a regular hit), then it will fall in an unpredictable direction, not based on your facing.

I couldn't think of a way for someone to screw up the top pillars, but some kind of mention of how to take them down wouldn't be out of place. I'll update the OP.

Yeah, I've lost interest in making it exciting... the PUGs that I tend to get in keep it exciting enough without my help. It's probably because I just accept the first 11 to click on the LFM.

When running the laser, I tend to zoom out to the maximum and keep a small slice of the sphere or "oven" as we refer to it in the corner/bottom edge of my screen. This allows me to keep up with where the titan is and I can also see the red turn to pale blue/white when the charge is gone.

At that point, I can tell the pillar guy that we have no power and we need a new "bun".

Never been true for as long as i've run it.

60+ Titans, all done by me with 2hander. 99% success rate. Never had them go in the wrong direction that I couldn't explain.

One thing I stopped doing was using my mineral 2, as it did way too much DPS, resulting in the pillar dying faster then i wanted it to. So I switched to like a plain old +2 greataxe.

Random useless mostly unknown fact about Titan:
You can disable the crystal resonators. Just hit them with disintegrate, even a scroll. Tho they regenerate after about 60 seconds.

Admittedly I have't done titan since the latest update. I don't even have the pack and dropped vip. But that thing about 2hand thing sounds very unlikely to be some new bug.
