    Default DPS Lag?

I think I’m experiencing “DPS Lag”. Her are some examples:

-Shroud: Cant even do it, as soon as the portals start it appears that everyone is standing still, this continues until the wall to the chest comes down. But by that time I’ve discovered that the rest of the group is almost done with part 2.

-Reaver: All is good until we kill him, as soon as all the firewalls and melee beat him down it appears that everyone is standing still.

-VOD: the last 30sec where the grp beats him down, the grp sounds as if the quest is over but I’m still looking at him with 25% health left and it is slowly dropping, I cant loot until its all caught up

-TOD: my first run last night,,,,,,Thank you for your patience by the way. On the 2nd and 3rd part,,,,,, group sounds finished, not moving, but im seeing health at 30%-40% slowly dropping.

What can I do to make this better? Are their any options besides getting a new computer? Any settings I can adjust? Anything that can help at all.

in ToD & shroud, the higher DPS the group is, the more lag.

so if you jump in a ToD and you have 5 FPS.. feel lucky. Θ.o

That's an interesting one. So, hmm, DPS causes:
    1) People banging on stuff (animation)
    2) Pretty effects (fire, ice, you name it)
    3) Floaties

Therefore, you can look at reducing the load on your card. "Pretty effects" is usually hardest on a card, I'd start there. Turn off shadows, turn off post processing, turn off all the pretty lighting options.

If that doesn't do it yet, you can look at reducing animation smoothness, reducing material detail, texture detail, model detail.

Another approach is the other one around: Turn everything to lowest, disable anything you can, see how it behaves. It'll look ****, but that's the best performance you'll get. Provided performance is playable at that point, see what you can turn on again. You'll want to find out the 20% of settings that cause 80% of your performance impact.

You could then, were you so inclined, have two little batch files that copy a userpreferences.ini around - one called "fast and ugly" and the other called "pretty for non-raids".

If you are looking for advice on upgrading the graphics on your machine, you'll get more than you bargained for once you ask on this forum and provide details on your current make/model of PC . If it's a desktop, depending on age and model, chances are good that you can be reasonably pretty and fast on a budget. If it's a laptop, chances are much lower: Only premium models have upgradeable graphics.
