    Default Whirlwind Fighter Path

Hi! Just a few questions here. I want to make an oversize dual wielding Fighter. I know how to make my own characters, like I understand the rules, how bright I am at doing it is questionable. Soooo:
    1) Is taking a path, any kind, any good?
    2) Is the Whirlwind path any good?
    3) When you pick a path, are you locked into all the skills and feats it gives you, or can you pick and choose things here and there?
    4) Can you take Toughness multiple times (as the path seems to indicate)?
    5) Is it worth it to take Toughness... oh what was it... 3 times? I don't know how that stacks with the Toughness Enhancements. I assume you don't get 30 hp for having one Toughness Enhancement.

My hope was to dual wield Khopeshs early on, but this path seems to suggest "don't even try it until you're level 6". I could get TWF, Oversized TWF, and Khopesh sooner than level 6. Guess I'm trying to figure out which way to go. So thanks for any help!
There are 10 types of people: those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Personaly I find myself either THF or SnB it until my BaB is high enough to TWF acurately... even on a ranger. This does not mean you cannot feat in TWF early as those first six levels go very quickly...

A Baker's dozen in the Prophets of the New Republic and Fallen Heroes.
    Abaigeal(TrBd25), Ailiae(TrDrd2), Ambyre(Rgr25), Amilia(Pl20), Einin(TrRgr25), Emili(TrFgt25), Heathier(TrClc22), Kynah(TrMnk25), Meallach(Brb25), Misbehaven(TrArt22), Myara(Rog22), Rosewood(TrBd25) and Sgail(TrWiz20) little somethings with flavour 'n favour

    It's not about BAB really.

What happened is that a fairly recent change to DDO made TWF not worth it without GTWF. You get a four-attack animation at level 2 or 3, and it takes GTWF to have offhand attacks on more than 50% of those. Getting only 1 or 2 offhand attacks means you'll be better off with a falchion or maul (especially when the attack penalty and acquisition of weapons is factored in).
