    Exclamation .ini settings please help

Hello community, I'm curious: since I'm running windows XP should I change the text in my .ini to DX 9 instead of 10?
I have an Nvidia 8600 gt pci express.
If so, How would I do that?

    Exclamation

Also, If I used the TDM and downloaded the game via the tiered download, does that mean I have downloaded the HD version of the game? Or Basic? If Basic : how do I upgrade to HD?

I'd really appreciate some advice either from a team member or a veteran player

You can only use DX 10 graphics in Windows Vista or Windows 7.

thank you for responding but you seem to have been confused by my question. I know all about the fact that I can't use dx 10 or 11 as they are for Vista and 7.

My question was should I get into the .ini file and change the core graphics setting

    from 10 -TO- 9
since the ini says dx 10 when you install the game whether you have the compatible program or not.

will it make my game run smoother? or will it have no effect?

I am a "power gamer" so I don't like to have anything but the correct settings/most recent drivers.... or I'll go stark raving mad
