My Friends List is showing incorrect class info for several of my friends. For example, one character (a level 7 Barbarian) is listed as a 7 Brb/1 Clr/1 Ftr/1 Pal.

You mean something like this?
I really like the 4th one on the list. 1+17+1+1=20 not 21. And the Bard/Pally combo just impresses the hell outta me.

people keep telling me my level is much higher than what it actually is when they view me on the list too.
