    Default Options For Guilds

Below is my proposal for upgrading guilds in many facets.

    GUILD LEVELS
    --------------------
When a player earns favour that favour is also added to his guilds favour.
The guild level then grants special items/areas to guild members.

    Guild.......Favour..........Benefit
    Lvl..........Lvl
    1-------10,000.....Guild Hall (Inn Effects)(a)
    2-------20,000.....Spirit Binder in Guild Hall(b)
3-------30,000.....General Vendor in Guild Hall (All levels) (b)
4-------40,000.....Divine & Arcane Regent Vendor (All levels) (b)
    5-------50,000.....Brawling Area(b)
    6-------60,000.....Banker(b)
    7-------70,000.....Hireling Vendor(b)
    8-------80,000.....Auction House(b)
9-------90,000.....Armour Vendor in Guild Hall (All levels) (b)
10-----100,000....Weapon Vendor in Guild Hall (All levels) (b)
    11-----120,000....Guild Bank A – 20 Slots(c)
12-----140,000....Potion Vendor in Guild Hall (All Levels) (b)
13-----160,000....Wand Vendor in Guild Hall (All Levels) (b)
    14-----180,000....Guild Bank B – 20 Slots(b)
15-----200,000....Arcane Scroll Vendor in Guild Hall (All Levels) (b)
16-----230,000....Divine Scroll Vendor in Guild Hall (All Levels) (b)
    17-----260,000....Guild Bank C – 20 Slots(c)
    18-----290,000....Guild Scroll(d)
19-----320,000....Outwards Teleport (Teleport and Greater Teleport Destinations) (e)
    20-----350,000....30m Buffs(f)

    (a) Basically a Area style set up and each guild would have its own instance. Thus you could put 1 Door somewhere (say the Market) call the Guild House and as a player enters it check to see what guild and if the guild has lvl 1 and sends them to guilds instance.

    (b) Already existing in the game. They would probably be in the Guild Hall from the start but would only become active when the correct level is reached (like level limits for dungeons etc).

    (c) This would be a new function, it would operate similar to the Shared Account Bank but members of the guild can utilise (The permissions (see Below) would see if a toon could access the bank slots)

    (d) Works as per Word of Recall except the destination is the Guild Hall. Should cost more than a Word of Recall Scroll (x1.5 or x2) as it is usable by any class in the guild. Possible a new vendor type so it does not affect other vendors in place (Call it the Guild Vendor)

    (e) A teleport portal that gives you the options from either the Teleport or the Greater Teleport Listing.

    (f) As per the House P and J Vendors at 150 Favour.

    Implementation:
Due to the issue of players that already have favour, an initial implementation that would count the favour of everyone in the guild who had been active within the last two weeks or one month.

DDO Store Options: Guild Lvl 1 – 10 abilities could be purchased prior to the guild achieving that level of favour (it does not give them the favour just the ability) for example a Guild hat has 50,000 Favour and really wants a banker could buy one but they would still only have 50,000 favour and need another 20,000 for the Hireling vendor).

    GUILD CONTROL
    -------------------
All the normal functions of the Guild Tab remain – this just sets the authorities on who can use them.
Create a user interface for the leader and approved characters to manipulate the following:
Guild Ranks (10 that can be created by entering in the box)
WITH the ability to grant ranks certain powers
    • Recruit
    • Expel
    • Rename Ranks
    • Promote
    • Demote
    • MotD
    • Alliance Control (Accept / request / reject Alliance)[See below]
    • Alliance Chat (Ability to use Alliance Chat)[See Below]
The Guild Leader always has full access.
Look something along these lines (Picture creates a 1000 words )

    ALLIANCES
    ------------
Allow guilds to create alliances with other guilds.
Using a simple request – Accept / Reject dynamic.
This will then allow for the channel Alliance (possibly as /a) to be added.
    Then alliance can chat together.
All in the Alliance should be able to see the Alliance Chat but only the Ranks levels appointed by each guild can actually type into Alliance chat.

Well it seems like an idea worth looking into to say the least. I would maybe change a few things (such as the points needed to allow for smaller guilds to have access too).

I'd like to see an ability for a guild leader to change the names of the rank of the leader, members, and officers, and when changing these names, the new names are applied to guilds across the entire server.

I'm probably just dreaming though, that could never happen.

neat idea, but how would u control for guild size?

a 10 person guild would have a hard time doing this, a 200 person guild it would be trivial.

you could scale it based off number of members, but then you discourage people from bringing in their alts, or lesser played characters

Though i would like to make guild ranks specific to character. I would like to point to "trappy/glass cannon/DPS"

officers should still be officers, but under that, i would like more specifics... then i can look at "guild online" and sort out an effective party with out having to figure out who's what with what build. As guild leader, i could just assign those "ranks" and adjust when changes happen.

Several of us talked about this and although we thought the same - the idea that the smaller guild were tight knit groups normally they might actually start Guild Favour Running (All making new toons for the express reason of running favour).

That was actually available for a small time when Update 1 came out and was what lead us to expanding it to what you see in this post. Sadly they have stopped the ability to change names. But is you type /help the entries are still there.

As earlier in this post, but yes it would be harder for a smaller guild, and the reason for the hight amount of favour was to make it still a challenge to a higher guild. I would never surest a limit to Guild sizes, too counter productive as you mentioned.

That's why we went for 10 Guild Ranks - Rank one would probably be the Leaders and 2 the Successors. But you could make the names anything you wanted to and with the ability to set permission to each rank you could easliy have the Officer Rank you mentioned with all the permission and other ranks called trappy/glass cannon/DPS with what permission you like and jsut use the promote/demote function to slot the toon into the right slot.

    Nice work on your posting.

I like the suggestions for the guild favor, but also open up module purchase options with turbine points.
Base the Guildhouse template on the portable hole.
Common entrance door at the marketplace or NPC to provide teleport (like Gianthold / Amarath).

    Add-on's
Lower favor-NPC travel advisors(charge a teleport service fee) for teleport/greater teleport destinations.
Higher favor-upgraded Spirit Binder offers teleport service to other spirit binder locations.
400 Favor upgrade on the House P travel trinket to superspeed on equip and teleport to guild house 2x/rest.
    - currently the superspeed is a 1x/rest clickie
NPC Guild Inventory keeper and Alter for guild bound inventory (charges a fee to rent guild inventory)
    - Binding ritual to guild bind items
    - Guild bound inventory returns to the Guild Inventory keeper if user attempts to destroy or leaves guild.
Purchasing Modules would be a touchy one as it would mean one person buying for another and I think the system is only for visitor style short term passes. That being said for a higher cost you could possibly buy longer visitor passes

The Portable Hole template is basically were were thinking of with the guild house. The extras would be there but activate as the Guild attained that ability, The addition of a Mail box would bee good and would be appropriate at Guild lvl 1 with the initial guild hall.

Low-level Teleport - Possible a link to the existing gateways between houses etc from say Guild Lvl 4.

Highl lvl Spirit Binder teleport - Now that would save /deathing a lot but it would have to be high as you can not teleport to a lot of those location, would work nicely at the same time as the Guild Scroll I suppose

Superspeed Clicky - a 2x would be handy, but as you mentioned would be better left with the House P Experts

Building to Guild etc - Nice Idea, would work in nicely at the same time the Guild Bank opened up - And yes returning it to the guild automatically if the toon leaves or tries to destroy is a good fall back to stop bad intentions.

That is the whole Idea of the guild bank, also the 3 banks would have separate permissions that is attached to the ranking system, thus you could allow only certain levels to access certain banks. for example low rank toons could only access Guild Bank A - and stuff in there would be appropriate. The GOOD stuff for sharing with higher ranked toons (ones that have proven themselves) would be in a different Bank slot.

    ------------
Lots of thoughts out there and many other possibility for Guild Favour options do defiantly exist so technically 20 ranks may not be the top

A question, would the guilds favor be static and once achieved, never
to lower. For example someone with high favor leaves guild? Could the
guild technically lose some of it's acquired favor rewards? But I do like
the idea, with the DDO store removing some of the favor incentives, this
could really push people back towards it.

Cheers, good idea, well thought out.

The favour would be calculated upon the toon earning it - so what ever Guild they are in at the time gets and thus keeps.

That's why the initial allocation in the proposal.

I'm assuming the banker in the guild hall you're talking about is a "shared" bank between everyone in the guild? That would actually be extremely useful, since gear I no need (because I now have better) could go in there to help out newer members of the guild.

We could use some extra expansion on guilds as player's have been doing all they can to get them.
