Collectables...

...waste my inventory space. Is there anything good you can get from collectors besides lame bolts, arrows, and weak wands, if you're a fighter what's the point in wasting my time with them.

Go to to the auction house. Click Collectibles, scroll through and look at what seems to be selling, make note of the prices and quantities in which they are sold. Save the stuff that seems o be popular and or in high demand, dump the rest in the rubbish bin.

A lot of us would rather just go to the AH and buy our ingredients and pay top dollar for them instead of farming them ourselves. This benefits us and it benefits you because it can put some plat in your pocket.

Bear in mind however that some collectors give nice stuff, and even if you can't use some of the things (Cure mod wounds wands for example) you can always give them away to people in need in your parties (Clerics) or bank them for your alts.
