ok skip the ranger all together
stick with the bard and go 15 bard 2 rogue 3 fighter
you get full buffing adn crowd control ability
then you can fight and you get 2 extra feats
but on the other hands if your drow you can do really well
you will dual wield rapiers and have a 15 to hit gh facinate blur haste displacement full bard songs and ac song for the partys that wish for it

Since he is going to spend 99%, if not 100%, of his time between level 1-19, and "I've found that most nights I end up solo", getting ~230 mana from a splash is absolutely necessary.

In the unlikely case, by the time this guy gets close to level 20 and he decides the FvS/Sorc splash is bad, there is always reincarnation...

So in the end, take FvS splash if you intend on leveling your character, especially in solo. Don't take FvS if you can easily come up with a level 20.

All i have to say is if you don't know what you're talking about, best leave people that do to give advice.Bards can umd anything so 0 point in taking Fvs "to be able to wand" that's just ridiculous. As for saves, whooopitty doo.

Characters are built for end-game.Not Mid-game or "early game" and with this advice it would pretty much kill his end game fun.
