    Default Build critique and question

    Been reviewing a lot of posts and found one from Impaqt I liked and slightly modified it. Was wondering if he or anyone else could review this and let me know what you all think. I am going for mainly a solo type build (heals, full dungeon explore, et cetera).

    There was one issue I encountered when doing this build. I have 17 dex and ITWF, but the darn builder would not let me choose GTWF ... not sure why. I hope someone can point out the flaw in my plan or the builder.

    Any and all criticism is welcome as long as it is constructive (both good and bad).

    I really appreciate the time anyone and everyone takes to place their input on my post.

    For the GTWF - were you trying to take it at a level too low where you did not meet the BAB req?

    (Just a guess - i haven't used that toon planner in a good two years)

    Dex needs to be a natrual 17 before any Enhancemnts.. Tomes and Level up points count. Enhancments and items do not.

    So you could take a level up point in Dex at level 12 and eat a +1 Dex tome to Qualify. Or if you have a higher level alt, Farm/Buy a +2 Dex Tome.

    build looks good except for Search Skill. Thats the most important rogue skill to keep maxxed out. If you fail a search you dotn even get the chance to try to disable the trap.

    Ahh, that explains it. Thank you for your quick replies. Will have to rework that a bit then. Other then that how do you think the build will perform DPS wise and is it viable for soloing?

    It appears as though the human build is better. I guess the question is though: Are the elf enhancement a deal breaker, because of the scimitar enc and the resist etc.? I am a bit a. retentive so I like to prefect a build before playing it.

    Not to be "1-dimensional", but why take ranger at all? replacing those with rogue levels will give you more skill points, and higher sneak attack & sneaking ability.

    Kensai2/tempest1 could be really good, but I don't know it it's worth it. Kensai2/tempest1 may be a really good combo that I just don't know about, but I seriously don't see any reason for ranger levels for anything other than tempest1.

    Endgame, this is probably a really good dps build, but my real questions about the build are as follows:
    Have you played to level 20 yet, and if not, how do you know that the placement of these levels is appropriate to what you'll encounter AT those levels?

    What will your gear be? Gear determines a whole lot of things that can make or break a build.

    Sure, I'm a downer, but sometimes someone needs to question your build, burn a few things, break a few more things... Yea, I'm relatively new to DDO and most of the PrE benefits, but whatever, ya know? Call me a brainless noob, I really don't care. I know what I can/can't do. ^_^

    Well to answer your first question no I have not leveled to 20, but that is why I am asking for the assistance. I am OCDish and want to plan out a good multi-class build first before running it through to the end. I have done extensive research on this topic and have found builds similar to these ones I made.

    I extensively use Impaqt's builds for reference material. He seems to be very knowledgeable in the field and I feel if i follow the level splashes as he does it will fit into the progression of the game rather well. It may not be perfect but at least it is a far better way to begin than random splashes, skill ups, et cetera.

    As for gear...I don't have a twenty so it will be farming for the items I may need or buying off AH if I can afford it. I plan on being a kopesher if I choose human (maybe half-ling) or scimitars if I chose Elf (do not have Drow yet). the gear will come, just working on a build so I can focus on what gear I may need as it comes.

    Finally, as for the kensei/tempest builds. I have read numerous times that this is a solid dps build. It is used extensively for creating toons that are crazy damage dealers. If I am incorrect please tell me.

    I am still wondering if the elf racial enhancements (scimitars, resistance) outweigh going with a human/kopesh for more skill points and one more feat. Or the possible damage output of a half-ling/kopesh(I hate thier run though). I can't seem to find a definite answer to this. I understand there may not be one, "to each his own" as they say.

    Well after thorough tweaking and editing I believe i came up with the final product I plan to use. Let me know what you all think, especially Impaqt. I think i have the good balance between stealthiness, LPing, DDing, and UMD. Also a good setup for dps. I look forward to your input. Namely if I should take feats or skills in a different order or any other opinions on the build.

    Whether or not they are *supposed* to count (I thought they did too) is a different matter altogether.

    I'm not saying you are wrong, only that the game doesn't behave like you describe, currently, at least with regard to ITWF and GTWF. I personally think it's bugged and should behave the way you describe.

    I currently have at least 3 of my characters that started with a 15 Base dex that ate +2 Dex tomes to qualify for I/GTWF.

    I just started 2 More as well.

    the game has operated this way as long as Ican remember. If it isnt right now, It due to a bug with how the Devs have fiddled with the way TOmes are applied due to Reincarnation and our new Minimum Levels.

    Please file a bug report.

    I would be interested in seeing your build as well.

    This is a build without tomes, seeing as how I do not have a toon to obtain them and barely any money to buy any .
    Looks pretty good.. I thing investing 2 feats to get your will save up to a 9 is a really poor return on your investment though...

    Well, I started playing this build and am almost level 7. I rethought the build a little, I chose to take spring attack instead of luck of heroes. I was planning to just take the 2 feats for saves at the end. If you are saying they are pointless I am not to sure what to replace it with. Maybe two weapon defense and stealthy/nimble fingers. Or maybe two skill focuses...UMD and something else. Just seems the options are kinda limited with all the feat choices I get as I gain levels. If you have any suggestions, I am open to them.

    I also did go Kopesh focus, but some people I have talked to say they are not the best dps weapons. I like the look of them but damage is my first focus. My build does include critical range increase so I am not sure if maybe dwarf axes or bastard swords would be better.

    Thanks for the feedback. Been fun so far instancing with this toon.
