Im a little bias, as I want you back in game, and several of our mates have asked me about you several times.

Heres what we have now


Lvl 20- Really a 3 level bump as once you reach 20 your capped, and get an extra 4 AP. The run from 19-20 is a little long (cant remember the xp off the top of my head though) but very doable so long as you dont alt around like I do :P I have 3 guys at 20, 2-3 at 19, several at 18, adn a bunch still at 17 &16. Level 20 really rounds out a few builds.

New Pre's- Assasin III is sweet letting you vorpal on any 20 that is a SA. Fighter Pre's rock. Kensai II is the bomb giving a very nice bump in dps, Stalwart III is also sweet giving some much needed love to s&b tanks (of course part of it is broke, but it still is pretty nice as is, and will be sweet if they fix it ) Tempest II and III I guess are nice, but I still dont have any rangers. Frenzied is the bomb for barbs, more damage then Crit rage, since the stat damage nerf I cant see many missing it (though some still whine)

Capstones- Some are really nice, fighter gets much needed love with the +10% alacrity. Rogs are fun to watch try to /death then they get their auto res lol. Bard is meh, barb I heard is nice, but i dont have any 20 barb. Ranger is nice as they were kinda overpowered, so the + to ranged damage is a nice touch, but not a huge deal. Paly capstone is sweet as well. So some nice new build options from when you left.

New content- There have been 2 updates since you left. Shavrath and Dreaming Dark.

Shavrath-Very fun little update. 4 main quests and 2 side quests, 1 raid. The 4 main quests are pretty good, though require a bit of grinding to get a set of 4 ingredients for a set of Boots of Anchoring. There are some really nice items (+6 con/GFL belts, Sup Pot IV necklace Etc) that are easily obtained. The quest difficulty is moderate. Not as easy for casters, melees shine a little more. Devils etc again, with high saves. DPS is king. The 2 side quests are very short, and fairly easy to solo on most self sufficient alts. Nice explorer area, though the xp has been scaled back from what we are used too.

The Devil You Know~the new raid. Can be done in a reasonable amount of time in a pug (though many pugs are still having a little difficulty resorting to cheese tactics when not really needed) Some nice items. Think of it as a When Harry Met Sally. Rings which you can add shroud type bonuses to IE: +2 exceptional stat 20% healing amp, holy burst for unarmed combat (monkeys) etc. Also give some nice bonuses for having the sets, but guess what, some seem to be not working lol.

Dreaming Dark~Cool little mod in the old harbor area. (where things like goodblades, low road etc used to be) Quests are pretty short, easily solo-able by most self sufficient type players/alts, some cool gear, but nothing game breaking.

Epic Desert~The desert now has an epic setting on the quests, raid, and preraid. You can collect items in the quests (drops from dead mobs or in chests) that allow you to upgrade old school desert loot. Some of it is top notch, others are very meh. Not sure about all the upgrades as peeps are still getting the stuff to upgrade items. Look here for some of the new gear.

Epic is indeed epic. Mobs have tons of immunities, tons of hitpoints, monster ac, huge to hit and huge damage. Once again, DPS is king here.

What else, some things are still broke, you still cant climb ladders lol, shroud is currently down (but hopefully comming back soon :hint:hint:devs there are lots of F2P n00bs cluttering chats channels and all in all getting in the way. Though the change to F2P I belive to be positive, there are many who are sub'ing up and trying to learn the game. Overall I think the game is in a healthier state then when you left.

Respecish things are being talked about, it seems to be an open conversation between devs and players. Not really any more vast & mysterious/soon/we cant tell you type stuff, though it does crop up a little. 2 new servers have been added, with no incoming character transfers, kinda nice for new peeps to start on and not feel so behind all the peeps they are playing with.

The stat damage nerf isnt as bad as many thought it would be, though you are still out some larges if you paid the 50+ larges for the w/p raps back in the day. But I have gotten over any losses I incurred. Heck even Kegheld came back, so it cant be that bad can it?

I still run with many of the same peeps that we liked when you were playing, as well as a new crew. I have found a new home in Quantum Entropy. A very small tight night guild that spawned off a few other guilds. We all have some differences but game time is to game, and we dont spend time dealing with any drama in game, if there is anything that needs to be said, we use our guild forums to iron things out. Everyone in this group is real into getting things done, and not sitting around forever trying to form a group. (Not that it always happens)

Still run with brey, taco, Jax, Craap (though he has a GF so he isnt on as much) Shin, and Kogeta just came back recently after having a kid, as well as others. All in all I feel there is a lot of stuff to do, and im still rolling alts, and there are lots of new players comming up the ranks. I think it would take a little getting used to for ya, but not a whole lot.

One other thing. Some claim there has been a huge xp nerf, dont listen, there is some massive xp in the game, although the days of 25k madstone runs are gone.

If what you are looking for is new content with new storylines. . .than yes. While I do have a few lvl 20's--Ive been fine just running quests for the quests themselves. There is also a nice new low level Chain of quests. I personally feel that there is a lot to do and not enough time to do it))

The grind for boots isn't that bad anymore as 3 of the piece can be bought quite cheaply off the AH. All your gear that you were using when you left at 16 is still enough to get you through Amrath Elite and Epic--though to be sure some of us want to craft some handier items for Epic

The New Harbor Quests are an Offensive Cleric and Casters Dream--melee can just stand around and look pretty while we kill everything A good balance I think of the new stuff.

As for the game, if you liked it before but was just frustrated by lack of stuff to do or the turtle pace of content things are looking up. Way up to me and hoping it keeps rolling.

Yea we maybe rerolling and running same old and some new content but it's all about calling each other noobs and just plain ole splitting a gut over it.

Phaat, it would make my day for you to return. You enjoyed the game before and you will still enjoy it with much to do. As Hex said there is more to do than there is time and Turbin is rolling in new subs, making money and dropping more content. So come on back, play casual cause there is no end in sight anymore.

Having you back would be a blessing...can't handle these runs with QE all the time . For someone like me who is not always on a lot there is plenty of stuff to due and grind for. Keeps me busy most of the time. Besides we need more good players back to help level lowbies because those pugs are brutal. Hurry up and get back in game.

Well bro, as quik mentioned i did.. have a gf.. now that i am back to my craapy solo self, will likely be on more.. and not getting interupted in shroud part 4 anymore (eh quik?)..

I won't talk about any quests or what ddo is offering, I believe the ONLY reason to game this game like any other is for the peeps. What ddo has to offer is in those you run with.

I know you miss us like we miss you, so.. come on back, check it out, try f2p at first if you like and just purchase the new areas, then you can decide.. OR.. just decide to have fun for a month or whatever your sub allows, and give it a go. i recently decided to take my characters out of guild and just pug, as i wasn't on enough and felt like i wasn't leading as an officer should, but i am enjoying flying solo and checking out guild options. Lots of great peeps out there and a few offers, wish i could join em all.. still contemplating.

regardless of what you decide, every game will have boring parts and the long wait for the update was really long.. but the peeps are there and the updates seem to be coming fairly regularly, and f2p is good overall, just take advice and trade off chat, because i know that'll drive you away

I've found the game to be rejuvenated. The LFM is deeper than i've ever seen it. In addition to new content and gear, there have been some nice gameplay changes that actually improve gameplay. I took a couple months off when my daugher was born and have just recently started playing again with any regularity and i've been having fun with it. but the best way to find out would be to get in and run around a bit, it wont make you impotent or melt you eyeballs if ya try it. Hope to see ya in-game soon!!
