Default A little annoyed at quest-end rewards...

I'm a rogue... I'd like some rogue gear. Annoyed at finishing a quest and having to choose between a quarterstaff, 4 crossbows, 2 robes, and a mnemonic pot... Is it that difficult to toss a rapier or a shortsword in there for me? Now I don't expect to get all of my gear from quests... but I have yet to recieve 1 single usable item from a quest-end reward. Not 1.

Take the mana pot, sell it on the AH for five to ten times the 'base' value, then either use this plat to buy the dagger/shortsword of your dreams, or else save up ten times as much to buy an equivalent rapier.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

Somewhere in the settings, you can set it that your end quest reward is based on your class, sorry I can't remember where exactly, but it is there.

Fair warning, you will see alot of crappy leather armor.

That's the thing.. I have that turned on.

Seems to work well for my monk, I always get at least 1 set of handwraps, but for my rogue... nothing.

I turned that stupid setting off. All my clerics ever pulled were shields.

BTW, end rewards for clerics are just as bad.

I have that problem too. The 'End Quest Reward based on Class' checkbox is ticked but every day I laugh at the woeful selection of equipment I'm presented with as a ranger... shields, crossbows and various other items that go straight to the vendor or occasionally the AH, if there aren't already 30 copies of the item for sale.

Same with chest rewards... I know you're not always going to get something you want but once or twice would be nice. The only items I've got from quests that I use are ones looted by other characters that I've asked if I can swap something for.

I prefer to turn Class-Based Rewards off. Iseem to have a better shot of getting end rewards that will at least sell well when I do, and the class ones always seem to suck.

95% of all non-static rewards are garbage. It doesn't matter what setting you use.

You just have to keep an eye out for that other 5%. If the 5% isn't something you can personally use, you can sell it to someone who can, and use the money to buy someone else's unwanted 5%.

Rogues are one of the few classes I keep it on as... I think they get a higher chance at rapiers?

I run several alts who are at about the same level. I've found the best thing to do here is to turn the class-based rewards flag off. When I get the end rewards, the loot randomization routine looks at my current race, class(es), and UMD in order to determine which really good item(s) it can offer me that I will not be able to use.

I know this because I live near enough to the servers that my sensitive network sniffer can pickup line echoes of the "Muahahahaha" packets (1) that the DDO server is exchanging with the other DDO and the LOTRO servers over my supposed annoyance.

I then take the seemingly useless item and pass it to the alt who can use it. Since I've purchased an additional 50 character slots I have pretty much every race/class combination. I just have to decide whether my WF pure Wiz will give the uber WoP rapier to my Drow Ranger or Drow Rogue. :-)

    But seriously...

I do turn off class-based rewards because it seems to make it more likely that I'll be offered an item that one of my 10 characters can use. If you only have a couple of characters, it may still increase the chance of getting an item with high resale/auction value.

    (1) Networked computers really do exchange Muahahahaha packets when they make trouble for a human. If you route your Cat5 through your head from ear to ear you can hear them.

Yeah I agree, clerics have it bad in general but having played many cleric variations, I have to say that WF clerics have the worst end reward loot pulls in the game. No other class or race variation can even come close.
