    Default Highest monk AC

What is considered a high monk ac for a level 20. Do they tank as good at fighters?? With good DR equip I dont see why not. These high dex\weap finesse builds look good. So what is the highest monk Ac you have seen?

80 on my old one (raid buffed and only level 16)
    Teth - Ascendance

Old School n00b that used to be pretty good at the game.

Typically a finesse build doesnt tank as well as a "fighter". Due to the difficulty in doing enough damage to hold agro, and usually having less hp. Not to say you shouldnt play one, or that you will never end up main tanking, just fyi

hitpoints can be a problem because of the lower HD of a monk along with the lack of class toughness enhancements.

however, dps is not really a problem any more. A well equipped monk with metaline handwraps and holy burst ring can do equal dps to any other than the insane frenzied bezerker builds. No ability to generate Hate will put them at a disadvantage compared with a pally DoS or fighter stalwart defender. I can do the math on the dps if you want, just takes too long but the 2d10 base dmg along with full str bonus to offhand, and 12% flurry of blows speed boost along with 10% insight wind 4 stance and Ki attacks all add up to a lot of dps*. I have to turn off PA when meleeing in ToD part 3 or I pull agrro from the (currently bugged) stalwart defender or DoS builds, and my monk is a low STR build...

    * this is assuming all Ki attacks being used at 250ms accurate correct intervals, and the monk is using Oremi's necklace to keep up the Ki generation required for this.

    Default Personal.

    78 Self-Buffed, 91-94 Raid-Buffed, 106 Max-Buffed Situational.

Although that Ac is not as high as it could be, some sacrifices(Chattering Ring, 2Ac) have been made in order to pump DPS output and free slots.

As stated previously, well equipped monks do not have a problem with DPS.

While I dont disagree Garth, I have seen a handful of monks played in a manner to maximize dps (literally I can count em on one hand)

    *Takes a deep breath*

It is so nice to hear other people say this. Monks have come so far. They are all grown up now!

true. The secret (not really a secret!) of monk dps is the ki strikes. If you're not willing to button mash those strikes, then you're not going to get up into the high echelons of dps. And you need to know your enemy too, adjusting your Ki strikes based on their elemental resists. It's really a fun challenge in the update 1 content to be using the right Ki strike on each of the four elemental dream wraith things - especially since hitting the wrong one heals them
