    Default Intelligence?

What race will offer the most int?

This is pure. Not going to add a rogue.

    I have a 32 pt option.

I haven't got a drow and haven't considered it but if that does offer the most int after all is added up, I'll consider getting it.

I have thought about WF for self heal. I have played a human cleric so I really like being able to take care of myself, but I plan to mostly party so self heal is not necessary and I can always suck a pot.

Also just so that I understand...Wiz doesn't need UMD to use arcane wands like clerics don't need UMD to use divine wands, it is just to be able to use those other class wands, correct?
Disappointed and without trust in the powers that be.

I would say human or drow. not sure of the exact break down but will say drow have the highest possible starting int.

Drow offers the highest int. You can max it to 20 at creation. All other races start at 18 max. A human can get an extra point during leveling that no other race can, so they come a close second in highest potential intelligence.

    Also,
You are correct on your UMD/Wands question. Wiz/Sorc do not need UMD to use arcane wands. However, UMD has also allows you to bypass race and alignment Restrictions on items as well.

Drow give you the most intelligence.

But I think warforged are the best race for a wizard. I have access to drow, but I would never roll a drow wizard.

A drow who starts with 20 int can only start with 14 con. A 28 point warforged can start with 18 int and 18 con if they wanted to. A 32 point can start with 18 int and 20 con if they wanted to. Plus, a warforged can add 2 more con via enhancements on top of that.

A drow wizard has bad self healing. A warforged wizard has outstanding self healing.

That seems like a lot to give up for +1 spell dc, +1 skill point, and a handful of spell points.

Remember this is just my opinion. A lot of people will disagree with this.

^ and an extra racial toughness for warforged on top of that

Getting the huge amount of HP (90 bonus with the enhancements) in that scenario & being able to quicken max reconstruct yourself in exchange for the -1 to DC is well worth it, IMO anyways.
