Using DDO through Steam

DDO is installed on my machine and working fine. I'm using Windows 7 and my question is this:

When I add DDO to "MY GAMES" for Steam and then continue to launch the game. The game launches and it shows that i'm about to play the game and then right before the launcher start where you put your password Steam doesn't show me playing the game anymore. Hence I cant use any of the Steam features while playing the game. Has anyone else experienced this? Any help would be great thanks.

If you look at your "Games" tab on Steam, you should see "Shortcut - Ready" besides the game name. All Steam does is create a shortcut for non-Steam bought games. Although having all your games in one list is useful (I use Steam's interface also for all my games), you do not get the Steam "Extras" & overlay.
