Hamhoks... Well, if over and over again your build is bashed, there's the chance you may not get into "that group" you really want in on.

Personal experience... seemed that over and over trying to get into VOD runs (for the goggles) was next to impossible when VOD was the raid to do.

Sure, you can always start your runs but again, if players buy into the "holding a repeater is next to useless" rhetoric and you get the rep as "that player", you may run into issues filling said group. In fairness, Hamhoks however isn't generally one to start groups.

Anyway, Hamhoks is greatful for the spotlight

I was laughing when he kept saying "Spectacular" optics, because I didn't know they actually changed the name. We used to call them that anyways, but they used to be "Specular Optics".

So, when did they change this?

Spectacular Optics
Equips to: Eyes
Minimum Level: 9
Reflex Save +4: This item gives a +4 resistance bonus to your Reflex saves.
Protection +3: This item protects its wearer by granting a +3 deflection bonus to AC.

I've had these on one of my toons for years. I thought they used to be Specular myself. Either way they are nice for combining a super reflex save and a decent protection bonus for level 9. Protection 2 items don't come on line until level 7. I think protection 3 on a level 9 pair of goggles is awesome in its own right! :0
