    Default Mo Money

I have played Warhammer, Wow, and PotBS and have greatly enjoyed the auction/market aspect of those games. What is the best way to make money in this game? I see a lot of items selling for crazy high plat and I'm barely able to break 10k plat.

How do you make your money in the game? Or do you just buy it?

I send all +100k gold weapons to my bard and have him sell them to a vendor, on a good weekend I get about 100k plat or moe

Once you are able to get high enough to get into some of the higher level quests, it becomes much easier to make money. During the levelling up process on a first character, it can be a challenge to keep afloat. Clerics are notoriously broke as first characters until they are able to survive quests without using resources such as cure wands and scrolls. Although, they make great plat accumulators once they are able to solo high level dungeons.

Also, you can get lucky with a few pulls as you level up. The best are the collectibles from quests. Some of these rare ones that are used for crafting rituals can net you upwards of 50 - 60 k plat each. You can check the AH for examples of the ones that tend to sell at the higher end.

Or, you can throw out random (non-begging) hints that you don't have lots of coin. If your lucky, you run into a vet that will drop some on you, just because they are nice.

your best bet imo is run stk untill you get a feather fall ring and then sell that for your bank roll .just run it and run it untill you pull one .When i first started i rolled a rogue that i used just to farm the ff ring. i never lvled her just had her hanng in the stk range .All stk groups need a rogue . You have to work for what you get in this game ,as you said everything is expensive. I still farm the ring on capped toons , 5 minute solo runs run....run...run

A few tricks come to mind...

Sell weapons to vendor in house d
Sell armor to vendor in house k

If you pull something really nice that you dont use for example.. +1 Holy Khopesh of pure good - trying selling on Auction House and check for other similar items and what there going for.

Also if you run into any toon starting with Butter I may have some plat for you...

I pulled a wounding of puncturing longbow, way back, and sold it for 400K plat, which pretty much bankrolled the rest of my toons to get up high enough to make mad plat. I regret it now, though. Wish I still had it, and would gladly pay that amount and much more for it, back.

The easiest way, IMO, is to just level up to the vale with a self sufficient character that doesn't need much pampering. Once completing the pre-reqs to run the Shroud, your bankrolling, baby! Keep your small and medium ingredients and sell your larges. If you run the Shroud every 3 days, after a month of doing this, you'll have more plat then you know what to do with. And you should have enough small and mediums to get to the second level of crafting. You'll have to wait a bit on that third tier since you sold your larges, but you'll have enough plat to bankroll and tweak lowbees, easily. Before you know it, you'll have a second Shroud ready toon, and can earn twice as fast.

BTW, when you sell the larges, do it in game, not the AH. People are always looking for large Scales or Stones, but a little general chat texting around Meridia will get all other larges sold quickly as well (except horns and bones).

At low levels, Eldritch Ritual Collectables are a good money spinner. You're probably not going to want to use a ritual until you get decent armor/weapons anyway, so you might as well make some good money while you're levelling.

Here's a guide as to the prices I've seen on the AH over the past few weeks:

    Lightning Split Soarwood - 90kpp
    Fragrant Drowshood Mushrooms - 35kpp
    Luminescent Dusts - 20kpp
    Silver Flame Hymnals - 3kpp
    Sparkling Dusts - 2kpp
Tome: Prophesies of Khyber - 2.5kpp
Vials of Pure Water - 1kpp

FYI - 90kpp is 90,000 plat which is 900,000 gold pieces (AH always shows stuff in gold pieces)

No. I'm a restaurateur. Or I was one, anyway. I figure the last thing Pattaya needs is another go-go. I just sold off my 2nd restaurant due to a "silent partner" who wouldn't shut-up.

Things are rough over there right now. Not many tourists, a stronger baht, political instability (coupled with an aging King), and the world-wide economic slowdown. You would think, with all that, they would be breaking down barriers to small business investors. Well, in Thai fashion, they seem to be raising the walls even higher. So, I am back in the States looking at some deals, which might get me to stay here for a while. Bad economy in the US = Good investment opportunities. But, Thailand will always be my second home. And I'm sure I'll eventually retire there in another 10 - 25 years. Sawaddee Krap. Kit-Teung Mong Thai Mak Mak.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled thread.

I've not seen a hymnal on the AH for less then 15kpp recently. I think the demand for these is way up.

I'm a lvl 5/1 Cleric/Pally so I have no idea about some of the crafting things you guys are talking about. I'm sure I'll understand better when I get there. I notice that when I sell things at the auction, the auction takes a huge payment from my payout. Is there anyway to decrease this? I try to work the auction hard at my level, but it seems like I pay almost half of my payout to the AH??

    Collectibles.

Check out eldritch rituals: +1 AC, +1 Save, force. Then look at current asking prices on the AH.

You'll see there a huge market, ripe for being undercut by a savy dealer.

Easy man. I meant through the DDO store. I didn't know if they sold there are not. I'm a legit player and wouldn't think of cutting corners.

Just make sure you click on all the collectable nodes you see around the game.

    Example of a collectable (mushroom):

They come in other varieties such as bookcases, cabinets, rubble, adventurers packs. Just make sure you click on all of them and eventually you'll loot one of the good ones (See above) and you've hit jackpot!

No Problem, just the way it read. You can not buy plat from the ddo store at this time. Collectables are a god way to make money as others have posted. Most of them you turn in and sell the items. Some though that are used in the rituals sell well on the AH.

There is no real easy answer though, but grinding and selling

From the MOD 7 release notes:

Energy cells in the Shroud raid can now be charged by weapons with higher total plus equivalence. The medium cells can now be charged by weapons from +6 through +15, and high energy cells can be charged by weapons from +8 through +15.
Green steel raid loot accessories from the Shroud that have the old Existential Stalemate that had a +4 to Wisdom as one of the effects can now be upgraded at a Stone of Change. The +4 Wisdom effect will be increased to the current +6 Wisdom that new Existential Stalemate items now get.
The Twelve has discovered several new rituals that can be performed at the Stone of Change. As before, you must first bind and attune your item before performing an Eldritch Ritual. The new rituals and their recipes are as follows:
"Alchemical Armor Eldritch Ritual" - Grants armor a +1 alchemical bonus to AC.
Requires: Your armor, 5 Vials of Pure Water, and 15 Strings of Prayer Beads.
"Alchemical Shield Eldritch Ritual" - Grants your shield a +1 alchemical bonus to AC.
Requires: Your shield, 6 Silver Flame Hymnals, and 2 Tomes: Prophecies of Khyber.
"Force Damage Ritual" - Your weapon will do 1 point of force damage on each successful hit.
Requires: Your weapon, 3 Luminescent Dusts, and 9 Fragrant Drowshood mushrooms.
"Force Critical Ritual"- Your weapon will do 1d4 points of force damage on each successful critical hit.
Requires: Your weapon, 6 Sparkling Dusts, and 12 Deadly Feverblanch mushrooms.
"Resistance Ritual" - Your jewelry item will give you a +1 competence bonus to saves.
Requires: Your jewelry accessory, 4 Lightning-Split Soarwoods, and 22 Funerary Tokens.

See above from rough estimates of selling prices on AH.

The collectables Garth mentioned are the ones for the rituals.
