Smile Feat Prerequisites Need a Definite Answer Please!

I just unlocked the Drow Race and going to make a 28 point Pally build as listed here.

    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=175020&page=5

I am a causal player and don’t have any tombs so I need to use my ability points wisely.

The Improved Two Weapon Fighting has this noted below.

“As always with feats: enhancements to ability scores (str, dex, etc), items, and spells do NOT count toward the prerequisites for feats. Only base ability scores, bonus ability points from leveling, and tomes (insight bonus) count toward feat prerequisites.”

Since you need to have a 17 DEX for this can someone please confirm that the Drow DEX Racial bonus does not count towards this?

At end game I want to be able to take Paladin Divine Might III which requires an 18 CHA. Can I use the Paladin Charisma I Enhancements that you get at 2nd level to meet this requirement if I had a 17 CHA from level one? It is not a racial enhancement, so I just want to make sure. Thanks in advance to all experts!!!

The drow racial dex bonus (at character creation) does count towards this. You won't be able to reduce a drow's dex score below 10 at character creation. What that tip is trying to tell you is that if you start with a 16 dex, and then spend two action points for the drow dex enhancement (bringing your dex up to 17), that will not count towards the prerequisite. Feats are relatively permanent, whereas enhancements are easily reset. So enhancement bonuses will not help you qualify for feats. You could start with a 16 dex, use your ability score boost at level 4 to take it up to 17, and then choose ITWF for your level 6 feat.

Thanks for answering the first part of my question with DEX and confirming.

Can someone please verify the second part of Class Enhancements? In order for me to get by end game if I start with a 16 CHA and use Paladin Charisma I Enhancements and II Enhancements to being my CHA to an 18; will that meet the prereq for Paladin Divine Might III?

I was afraid that was the case but thanks for confirming this. Now I can properly plan bu build. I will most likley use the ability score boost that you get every 4 levels to help make up the aditional points that I need unless I get some tombs by that time.

    just for your info:

Tomb: found in a cemetery, contains dead bodies

Tome: a book, in the case of DDO, a book of knowledge that after reading will permanently enhance one ability score
