Well this seems to be a good sign, eh?
The Orien Funding Bill is passed. The system goes on-line November 4th, 2009. Developer decisions are removed from content release. Orien begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, November 29th. In a panic, Tarrant tries to pull the plug.
What do you mean this server is only open to new players?
Why isnt this being reserved for VIP only?
Congratulations Turbine on turning this around for all your longtime players who have always known what a tremendous game this is.

At 3:09 am Eastern Time, November 29th, The Orien Server becomes aware of where Turbine has been imprisoning Nat Gann on all 7 Servers and begins to recode the core instructions. NPCs become sentient and look for their lost friends, including Nat Gann. Nat is expunged from the system at 03:51 am and gains sentience.

Good to hear game is doing well. Why not just give back Xoriat to the faithful instead of giving the noobs a nice shiney server?

Please split the class forums into REAL subcategories this is a jumbled mess.
Great to hear that the population's is expanding.
Hope it's not just due to the current nothing-interesting released recently gaming trend.
Though you may see a downblip on population today. Blame Bioware.

So all newbies starting from scratch on 4th?
Thats really good to hear.
OK I will explain this one more time for the Noobs(and no I don't mean new players), fixing a bug and building(maintaining) a server are 2 completely different tasks done by 2 completely different sets of people.
A bug is fixed by a developer, and tested by QA, then delivered to a production support team who will apply the fix based on the instructions provided.
A new server woudl be built by the infrastructure team and installed with an already certified copy of the software, it may go through automated testing scripts etc, and in fact is probably already part of the infrastructure, given the maintenance window on Monday.
The only place where the 2 may cross is in QA, and maybe the move to production which would be done by the same people.
Yes I know everyone wants to get back into the shroud, including myself, but the fix will be ready when they have finished coding it, and not a minute sooner, and I doubt very seriously that they are taking a laissez faire attitude on this bug, as it affects one of the major quests in the game.
