    Default Seeking Advise

I am semi new to DDO, I have been playing about 2 weeks and am getting a decent feel for the game, the one thing I do know is that a small mistake early can really hurt a character. I have recently reached 400 favor and unlocked drow and am looking to make a new toon to level all the way to 20 and want to make a drow, I have been playing MMO's for about 10+ years now and always find myself as the healer/buffer/support role which I enjoy allot so right now I am thinking of making either a drow cleric, favored soul (yes I bought this one before thinking enough about it) or bard and am not sure of build ideas and if a drow is even viable for any of these roles.

suggestions and possible builds would be greatly appreciated

Drow are good for anything Dexterity, Intelligence or Charisma-based.

I've just rolled what I expect to be 18 FvS/2 Monk and have recently also rolled a Drow Bard. If buffing/support is your thing, I'd recommend Bard.

I have a rogue3/wiz2 that is pretty tough on her own.
I don't like getting into parties because it seems people want
to get the most number of kills and are not concerned
with solving the dungeon as a group

I can get through most dungeons
on my own, but some need real players
and not a group of hirelings lol

the rogue/wiz is the best overall solo player I have had ... so far

Drow is suboptimal for a Cleric or FvS...nothing Drow adds really helps them much.

For a cleric or FvS I'd suggest one of:

Human (my personal choice, can increase 2 stats, extra skill points, and most important, extra feat)

    Dwarf (more hp, bonus sp)

Halfling (healing dragonmarks... this used to be top choice, but in the current game I personally dont think the DM's pay back as much as the feats they eat up)

For FvS only, if you want a melee cleric, Elf and WF both have some advantages.

If you want to use drow you want a class that depends on two of dex, int, chr and cares less about con.

A two weapon fighting Bard is what you're looking for here (DEX,INT,CHA). Drow can do something similar with the Paladin Class (DEX&CHA). Bard's in DDO seem to be a make or break class, I have yet to see someone who finds them "Meh". After playing for a while you'll notice there's is a definite style to how DDO plays vs D&D (any PC iteration). It is the Bards and Monks that I think make the most unique DDO experience. The others feel more like a twist on their normal method of play.

*Building a Drow Ranger/Bard, considering using a level of Rogue for solo trap skills too.

    Dogan
Rogues can be interesting too, and are an entertaining play as well.

I am playing a drow FvS right now, it is doing very well for me in low levels and is a lot of fun. I'm going the TWF route with shortswords for the stackable race/class bonus. I tanked WIS with a plan to focus on healing/buffing spells (probably wouldn't do that again) and my level up pts. go into STR.

So far it's been a very capable solo character, the best I've done I think. In a group its been flexible enough to be in the thick of the melee or hanging back and healing. If I find my DPS lacking at higher levels I'll still be able to toss out buffs and heals.

If you want to play a drow and like a multi-role character, this is a solid choice IMO.
