Don't see why people are so obsessed with nuking everything. If it's webbed, then getting it killed isn't exactly a priority. More like a waste of SP.

Idiot casters are the worst. Nuking everything, then we come to a room with casters up on high ledges and I ask them to nuke and they go like "I'm out of SP". Yea no ****, you shouldn't have thrown 6 fireballs on those oozes in the other room.

I watched a sorc nearly die serveral times lastnight because he would aoe fire nuke the webbed mobs that no one had touched yet, free them up and then run around getting beat on by them.

So, is only one fw effective at a time in a given area?

If so, can mobs still be dragged through multiple separately placed fw?

IIRC, a burned web does more damage. Did they take that off too?

Also as a caster I sometimes deploy fireballs then web to grab aggro, pull them together in a unified front, then web them so they are much easier to splash damage for melee users. Or the eventual second fireball.

I used to Hypno at a distanc, then run up and cast Otto's on each monster till they were all dancing.

Awesome stragtegy that can keep a party fromtaking any damage at all.

Yet, everytime I run up to the mob to cast otto's, there is always some fireballing caster with an ichy trigger finger, making sure he wakes up the whole mob as soon as I get close enough to get beat on.

Same thing: first Fireball, then CC! A good caster will pick out the Careless AOE Mage at most 5 minutes into the quest and adjust accordingly...

Yes, yes it does. Only cold spells and ranged touch or touch attack spells do not break web.

Ok, so at the lower lvls (aka pre-firewall) I've been playing my wiz as a support char. I blur the tank, toss out resists, keep the melee hasted and pretty much sit back and wand while they destroy.

I also like to web. Web is awesome. Heightened web on elite quests = saved healer mana. Not to mention it keeps annoying hippity hoppity kobolds and skeles in place for the melee. I'm preaching to the choir, right...

We can all agree, we like web, right? Ok. So Why....

Yes, yes it does. Only cold spells and ranged touch or touch attack spells do not break web.

That's surprising. I know in PnP D&D, only a fire spell destroys the web. Acid, cold, etc. didn't do anything to the base web.

This is a peeve for most of my casters all my arcanes have web its a very useful spell threwout the levels, yet it never fails if im in a group with another caster for them to fireball the webs. I used to get mad about it but now I just shrug it off, the flip side is I will tend to web creatures to keep them off me and the cleric in the group will grumble since they threw up a blade barrier lol I'll hear "I cant kite them threw this with your web.."

Thus the life of an arcane you either get used to the frustration or you silently pray every night that the game adds friendly fire
