It's soooo broken that this level 1 spell stops all Force spells I use up to 4th level so far so can't verify others. But these 2 spells are SPECIFICALLY only supposed to stop Magic Missle. That is all, not all Force Spells.

What makes you think that?
Keep in mind that the behavior you are describing is a buff to spellcasting player characters... because of the differentials in hitpoints, preparedness, and actions, the life of a sorcerer would be more difficult if he couldn't make himself immune to Force Missile and Chain Missile. Since those spells do poor damage against monsters anyway, the inability to use them on a fraction of enemy spellcasters is unimportant.
Where did you get that idea?
Did you check the entry for Chain Missiles, on Spell Compendium page 45?

And it's not on a small portion of people. it's every single person who does brawls, cuz they all have Shield or Nightshield item buffs too. it's broken just fix it.
Wait...you want something to be changed because of the brawling tavern? What is this, WoW?

If you are high enough level to have force spells, why are you killing kobolds in the Harbor? Wouldnt you have other spells you could use as well?

kobolds dont have the shieldspell
afaik the only mob with shieldspell is the demonqueen, a lvl12 raid

So lets get things straight...
Your force spells (A horrible source of absolute damage, relatively speaking) are being blocked by a lower level caster's shield spell, and therefore you didnt win?
Sounds to me like human error, not a broken mechanic.

And what everyone else is saying is that the ddo implementation is much more favorable to players (at least those of us who like to run quests instead of PvP). Most players don't want spells nerfed for PvP. Any time you bring up PvP as an excuse to nerf something you are going to get a butload of flak. This game was not built around PvP. it is an add-on; an extra little something to do when not questing. We all knew this was coming when they introduced PvP into the game, and most everyone back then was vehemently opposed to changing game mechanics to accomodate PvP, and they still are.

Minimize expectations and you'll never be disappointed
So, I hear that one day we may get Familiars.......I want a Velociraptor!
As you may have noticed, this game isn't PnP.
Should a monk's deflect arrows ability only apply to arrows and not crossbow bolts, despite the fact that the latter tend to be smaller and moving at higher speed? Or course not. So there is no serious reason to complain that shield and nightshield block magic missile and upgraded versions of that same spell.
Please don't insult other users on the forums, it's simply inappropriate.

Ok, let's examine WHY you think the spell is broken. You state that the reason why it is broken is because in 3.5 the spell description of shield and nightshield states that it they only block magic missile and does not say it blocks force missile and/or chain missile.
Ok, I agree with you, it says that (actually, I only agree about shield, nightshield isn't in the Player's Handbook).
Care to know WHY it doesn't say it blocks force missile/chain missile?
BECAUSE FORCE MISSILE/CHAIN MISSILE ISN'T IN THE 3.5 PLAYERS' HANDBOOK, EBERRON MAIN BOOK, OR COMPLETE ARCANE!
Why would the spell description in 3.5 mention that shield/nightshield does or does not block a spell that IS NOT IN THERE?
If you argument is based on 3.5 books only (and it appears to be), then it has no merit since those spells are not available.
I personally have never tested what spells are/are not blocked by shield/nightshield. This is because I don't PvP. In quests, however, I use magic missile (and now chain missile) on occasion and have never run into a problem. I do routinely cast shield on myself in quests and I do believe it blocks force missile (I think that's what is cast in the Battlefield).
If you are complaining that you think the spell is broken SOLELY because of PvP, you are not likely to get any traction at all.

1: Calling people ******** is not gonna help.
2: This is DDO, not PnP, not everything goes by the handbooks.
That being said, you have a point, although it may just be a technicality. Yes, the spell descriptions do state MM. However, it is/was probably easier to have the spells block force damage(3 spells). And to change it,(given the track record of fixes here) might just cause more problems than it's worth. If we where to even get a response from a dev, it would be one of two things:
1. Working as intended(possibly change wording of spells)
2. It's bugged(Gets put in the long list of known issues/bugs, and gets fixed a year+ later(thats being generous)

Magic missle, chain missle, force missle are all kinetic force spells and within DDO I don't remember shield/nightshield ever not stopping them. This is a good thing for casters since some of the mid to upper level caster mobs like to throw these and with ZERO defence against them they would be pretty deadly against 100-150hp casters.
Taking it a step further, I have always wondered why if shield stops force missles then why doesn't it work against force traps.
