    Default Wizzy King Epic

Always my favorite Quest since it first came out. Doing it on Epic today was the most fun I've had in ages playing DDO. And not a single mana until we killed both mini bosses and we were ready to take down the King .. at which time I ran out of Heal Scrolls.

My toons are dripping in DQ raid loot so I'm gonna be making my guildies run this with me on a regular basis.

That quest was a blast indeed. Have been in there on one solid and one weak PUG - solid one completed all optionals without a single mana pot used, the other one wiped on Raiyum and was messy.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

Salade used 2 mana pots. Not sure about chop, not a lot though.

I used 100 heal scrolls and far too many mana pots but I have to say there is very little I would have done differently.

Problem areas: I didnt see the Wraiths coming at the efreeti. I had thought they spawned during wiz king, so that was messy.

There was one moment earlier when we had several arcane pop along with mummies and skillies - that was prolly the worst because it was unexpected.

With this quest I ran it just the same as I did back when it was fairly new and nobody had uber weapons. We took it nice and slow and kept surprises to a minimal.

Running like you did three years ago on elite with lvl 12s is exactly what's required here imo.

And yeah .. I wouldnt want to pug that.

Tried the epic raid today - same thing. It felt exactly the same as a lvl 12 with no good weapons back in the day. Almost finished on our first try. It would have been fine if the few weak links had been replaced.

I give a huge thumbs up to Turbine for the work on these.

BTW: Be prepared for the massive weapon damage you will sustain in here.

    (Scared of OOB lol )

100 heal scrolls .. but that wasnt enough and made me sink in to mana pots. I'd say at least 300 heal scrolls next time just to be sure.

    And Epic Chains tonight.

OOB scares me so it may be a while before we try that.

OOB is the easiest of the four.

This is pretty much the conclusion we came to, although the cap was 14 when I started, most of my group remember doing the desert when it was new...

I got someone's haggle bard to buy me 2000 heal scrolls recently for learning the Epic quests; generally I'm using 100 in a strong groups, 400 in a weak one per run. (This will, of course, decrease with time)

It's certainly the shortest! Any tips you could share I would appreciate. With the others I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve in addition to a great crew but OOB .. my first time 3 years back was on Elite .. I was new to the game .. I was the cleric. My stone was carried through the entire quest. lol

Now prior to the last Mod I was running it a few times every week for several months, farming the raid, but it was on norm and a cakewalk.

But the drow debuff, and have high saves so I imagine on Epic that's gonna be way out of control.

A caster and I two manned it on Epic up to the first few rooms .. made it across the bridge, just to get a feel for the saves and general feel but the DA immediately goes off when you open a door. In a way it's even worse than being lvl 12 and running it elite 3 years ago. Oh and the 2 of us we died in that next chamber.

BTW: After running Epic we did TOD .. the raid seemed really anti-climatic after Epic.

I found ADQ1 to be by far the easiest of the 4.

Sadly many mini bosses give you xp but not chests...
Giving capped people xp and nothing else is not amusing.

Yea....was only kidding about the xp...I don't think I would want to try the epic diff on anything other than a capped toon even if they would allow it.

A group of players from our channel ran OOB a couple of nights ago. Since we were not sure what to expect, we just ran it as a standard OOB run: kill fast, move on, dont linger or you get overwhelmed. Clear trash at doors, call it out when the next door is open, move on.

We used the very first shrine behind the locked door but it was really messy, too many respawns. Might be worth considering just forgetting about that shrine and moving on. We also made sure to loot every single chest, Darkstinger chest dropped sigil of spec gloves so totally worth it. The last aspect is a really fun fight.

    Good luck

I figure the underwater shrine is the only one worth it. Id hate to use more resources than we gained from trying earlier shrines.

I'm definitely going to go for every chest.

The Dungeon Alert really screws this quest. Argh! I agree with the concept of a DA (zerging is an exploit) but until they fix it so there is a bit more balance in its operation I for one am not it's biggest fan.
