Maelstrom?

Back when I use to play I use to carry a Maelstrom on my lower levels. I've been looking for one to help twink certain characters but I find it almost impossible to find one. In fact I haven't seen one person with one, nor have I seen one in the AH. Do they still drop, and are they still Anarchic of Pure Good, minimum level 2?

They are +1 frost (1d6 cold) and anarchic (2d6 chaotic).

They do still exist.

They are way overpriced.

They still rock out the newby areas.

Back when they opened up Korthos there was a small amount of growth (population increase)
I had one and sold it for 300k plat on the AH in a matter of hours.

I used a Maelstrom borrowed from a friend until just recently (I replaced it with a Carnifex drop at the end of Delera's). Good stuff!

Last time I pulled it was in Tempest Spine. Fire and Ice room. this was just 2 weeks ago. very over priced but great axe.

I actually don't think they're overpriced at all. They basically kill most things you fight at low levels in one or two swings. Kobolds and hobgoblins (waterworks, stk, tangleroot) all take the extra 3d6 damage from the axe.

It's simply a ridiculous weapon for low levels, and whatever price you get it, it's worth it.

I've got it on my lvl 15 bard at the moment and still use it from time to time. It is however, the only one I've ever pulled so yeah it's a tough drop to get.
