Default Experiencing a lot more running in place

In the last week and a half my guild mates and I have been experiencing a lot more issues with characters freezing in place for a period of time. From another player's perspective it looks like that person is running in place and it can take as long as 2 minutes before they get full control of their character again.

It is sometimes associated with a disconnection of the chat log. Are other's experiencing this strange sporadic lag.

I've experienced this issue to a much larger extent. I get stuck rubberbanding in place. I can talk on the chat, send tells to others, but nothing else works. No one else can see me moving about (or at least trying to) although they can see my avatar in the world. The only thing I'm able to do to rectify this is to completely quit out (for whatever reason, simply logging out of that character isn't an option; it won't let me). THe only workaround that DDO Tech Support suggested was to go into the msconfig, turn everything off for the start up and reboot in a different mode and run it that way. I've had limited success with this.

If anyone else is having rubberbanding/lag/running in place issues that might've found a way to work with it, please let us know

I did experience this pre-launch for a while, but have not had issues with it myself other than some lag at times. My friends however are another issue. Three of them have had this issue. Could it be tied to server load?

I can think that you guys are running Windows 7 like me, and Turbine don't have the proper updates to run with it...
I had to do a full reinstall, and it helped.. a bit.

Check your Turbine Download Manager. It will set up as a peer-2-peer file network and can cause significant lag. Turn off the Peer-2-peer and it may speed up for you. Or, don't use it at all.

Since mod 9, I have had lag out the yazoo.

I was running an AMD Phenom, NVIDIA 9800GT, 4 gigs ram and Windows Vista.

My son, running on an AMD Athalon X2, with an NVIDIA 8500 with 3 gigs and Vista did not have this problem. In a party one night one of the pugs was talking about the AMD Quad cores and the problem they have with running games.

I have NO IDEA IF THAT IS TRUE, but......

I recently got an I7/motherboard and the lag issue has melted away. There are still SOME issues, like enterance/exit of very populated instances, but it is much more like pre mod 9.

I'm running a dual core AMD with an 8600GT (512mb) video card, and 4 gigs of Ram. I run Win XP pro 64bit. For a while last week I kept on having the DDO client crash on me, but then I rebooted and it all went away. Also it did help that I not run xfire at the same time. But now I have both DDO and xfire and it all seems to work fine.

I'm having the same issues since update 1. Prior to that I was fine. Rubberbanding, running in place, etc and losing connection frequently.
