Why don't people let rogues do their jobs

I like my Simple Thief Character. I TRY as much as i can with him to avoid combat. Sometimes slashing just short of enemys so it wont attack me... I call it roleplaying. its fun, and its alot of fun trying to look productive rather then being productive.

Wow! I would call that the behavior of a Jerk who is actively trying to sabotage the groups success.

What is a Rogues' job?

Over the year's I've been a Cleric, Tank, Trapmonkey, Rogue DPS, Caster and much more and yet I've filled every role without much complaint or problem.
