Probably a good warning...but that seemed to actually come as a surprise to the devs that they worked differently. It could have been a bug, we won't know for sure until Wed.

But the coding is most likely retroactively applied. In other words, if you can't eat your +2 tome and get to level 7 before Wednesday, you might be out of luck. Might they potentially strip a point of Int away from you after the Update? I doubt it...but has that been specifically tested on Lam?

Hmm, I have a lvl 3 rogue who already ate an old +2 int tome. To be safe, I should probably get him to 7 before Wednesday to make sure I get the extra skill points?

I don't play on Lammania. I have no familiarity AT ALL with the situation. But to be super paranoid tin-foil hat safe, I would. Maybe a Lam tester could say otherwise, but they would have had to have a character in just the right situation to test this specifically. Of course if you ever Reincarnate you'll lose those skill points anyways.

I really doubt they will "roll back" skill/ stat games for the sub lvl 7 people as this would be a verry complicated character by character fix that seems more work then it's worth. I think you should be fine having eaten the +2 pre lvl 7.

but they do work for the next 48 hours, so if you have a build that needs the sp or something, and you want to powerlevel to 7 in 2 days, buying them is a great idea.

It really depends how they code it. I can envision many ways they could have chosen to do it. Maybe it doesn't perform the check until you go to level, so things seem fine and then you go from level 3 to 4 and a point of Int disappears as it gets run through the new 'if level is between 3 and 7 limit tome to +1' code they could conceivably introduce.

I wouldn't worry about it anyways because I don't think you should build a character that fears Reincarnation. Just conform so you don't have to sweat it.

btw it seems clear this is the inadvertant side-effect of them setting up leser and greater reincarnation to phase the tome bonuses in by level so that every time someone pulls a +3 or +4 int tome, they dont immediately do a lesser reincarnation to gain 23 skill points.

That's certainly an issue they had to address with tomes and reincarnation, and it looks like the code carried over to normal toons by mistake, and hence their surprise.
