Default khyber vs. syberys, yah dragonshard question

i think i found out the syberys shards are used for the feat exchange, and it takes a butt load of them to do it, like a million i think i read. but whats the khybers for, and do i munch them in the grinder in stacks of 100 as well?

The siberys are used for feat exchanges, yes, but you only need 100 at low levels, and it goes up by a factor of 10 for each stage of feat exchange gem (the gem you need is based off your level when you do the exchange)
There's a chart on DDO Wiki that details it.

The khybers can be used to "bind and attune" equipment to a character. Bound equipment (which includes anything bound you get as a quest reward) never takes permanent damage when repaired. Attuned equipment can have further rituals done to it for minor upgrade effects.
To bind an item, you need its minimum level squared in khyber fragments. If it has no minimum level, you need 400.

You can also crunch khyber fragments (in piles of 1000) down into tiny khyber dragonshards, which can be crunched into smalls, which can be crunched into averages. These are the components for the trap the soul spell, a will based instadeath effect. Some casters quite like the spell, and will buy the shards off the auction house. Be aware the tiny shards are now on sale at some vendors, so there is an ingame worth of about 10,000 gold for a 1000 stack of a thousand khyber fragments. Pricing them at maybe 8,000 gold for a full stack seems to sell somewhat well on Thelanis (at least until a bunch of newbs read this and flood the market ).
