only throwing distance
widen spell would increase the area but that isnt in game

Newbiex that is an excellent question and I appreciate you asking it so clearly.
I had the same question after I read the DDO Compendium entry. I felt it could easily mean either throwing distance or how far an aoe effect ranges when it says “twice the range”.

for some reason i feel like when i use to cast a spell that covered an area that it tended to cover a larger area. nothing like firewall or disco ball but mainly debuff spells. when i had enlarge they seemed like they covered more area with a debuff aoe.
im probably wrong but it just seemed like it made the area bigger
