Default Warforged and Fortification - Char sheet oddness

Quick issue here, hoping someone experienced can shed some light, My server was being less than helpful.

How does Warforged's innate 25% fortification fit in with items?
I'm wearing another 25% fortification item and my char sheet says 50%. Should I trust that, or just a visual bug? (Everyone keeps saying NOTHING STACKS, etc etc)

If I can trust that, does that mean all I need is a 75% fortification item, and I'm immune to sneaks? Or do I have to hold out for a 100% item to really let it work?

One significant advantage warforged have over the lesser races is that they only need to find a moderate fortification item to become totally immune to sneak attacks and crits. So no, that is not a visual bug. A warforged wearing a light fort item has 50% immunity to sneak attacks and crits.

WF fortification stacks, as per PnP.

    Light + warforged becomes medium

    Medium + warforged becomes heavy

    Heavy + warforged becomes overkill

In general, things from the same source do not stack.

Example: Moderate Fort Ring and Light Fort Belt have the same "source" (items), so they do not stack.
Example: Moderate Fort Ring and WF Race 25% Fort have different sources (items + racial feat), so they do stack.

Example: WF Con enhancements and Barbarian Con enhancement have different sources (racial + class), so they stack

Dodge bonuses are an exception to this. The Armor Dodge ritual (+1) stacks with Shield Dodge ritual (+1) and the Dodge feat (+1). However, the Chattering Ring Dodge (+3) doesn't stack with the Reaver's Refuge Dodge (+3).

It's best to use the same trick that you used in grade school for American English spelling rules.

When bonuses come from a different source
You can be sure they stack, of course.
Except when it's found on a Titan ring
And on the 3rd tier of a Soveriegn thing.

Thank you very much for your input. I was getting the exact opposite answer from /advice, and figured I needed a second opinion.

Good call... it's too bad you can't trust the Advice channel without a lot of research, but at least you can turn it off.
