    Default Collectibles, ugh.

My friends and I headed into Tangleroot Gorge last night, the first time we've quested outside of the Marketplace. We did the first three quests there, at which point we were stuffed with collectibles. Since it was our first trip out of the Marketplace, they were completely different (read: did not stack) with the collectibles we've found before.

It took us 45 minutes of running around the various houses, banks, vendors, etc. to fully disperse and distribute the collectibles and the rewards. We spent maybe 1.5 hours in the dungeon. Effectively, managing collectibles was a 50% overhead to playing the game.

    ...

What's the solution to this problem, short of buying a huge collectibles bag ($$$) for every char - or just deleting them?

This is not good gameplay or game design.

Oh, and when we were finally done managing collectibles, it was time for bed.

I assume you had the free small bags you get when you leave Korthos.

Collectibles are an optional activity. One can get a pretty nice return on time invested, once you figure out which ones to focus on. Since they stack very high, it also makes sense to just wait and do turn ins only ocasionally. There is a nice thread on the forums which details all the collectibles and the likely rewards. Some of them are very much worth doing.

Other collectibles have higher purposes in crafting better weapons, armor, and items, and are often sold on the Auction House for 1000's and 1000's of gold or platinum.

If you're gonna nab collectibles, a bag is a must. Otherwise, you wind up in the stuffed condition you described.
Medium bags can be bought for GP from a couple vendors. (House P, Erstwhile Emporium, for one.)

Personally, as a long time collectible addict, the Huge bag is very much worth the TPs, especially if you catch it on one of the discount sales.

There is 2 things you can do if it is available to you (which I do).

    1) Buy a Medium Collectible bags from a vendor (believe it is in House P, but I am not positive)
    2) Place them in your bank (move to another character) and then go back out. This is actuall what I do with gems and collectibles.

    Hope that helps,

If you do not have a full compliment of collectable bags (small, medium and large), decide which ones are WORTHY of keeping. Only keep the ones that you think are worthwhile.

I keep certain collectables (like the ones used for crafting rituals). For instance, the small bag is good for just keeping harbor collectables in. It accomodates all the collectables for the harbor (12 slots = 4 collectors). The 'high' value collectables, I will usually throw in the bank (if I have room).

The worthless ones, well you can either drop them or put them on the AH, someone will eventually by them if the price is right (some people will buy anything if the price is right).

If you have multiple characters on the same server, designate different collectables to each character (low level characters deal with harbor collectables, mid level characters for the marketplace, etc.

    Just my 2cp
I believe in mind over matter. If I don't mind, it doesn't matter.

Here be the thread for Collectibles...

    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php...t=collectibles

You will find everything and more you need to know about them....

I personally designate one character with my Huge Bag. I make sure to move any I pick up after quest to either the shared bank or (a mule toon on the second account). Then log the collector and empty the shared bank.

If you read thru the thread above, you will see that range and value of some of the items you can get. Pretty valuable for some of them. Cure Serious Wounds wands? Nice.

Ah, young one.. you should have been here when we didn't have bags.

You can buy with gold Medium bags from Vendors in P and J. You really don't have a need for larges as of yet at that stage. But the huge bag$ are nice.

Yup, you could have a number of bags at once. A few are called Exclusive, which means you can only have one in your Backpack at once, but you could have another in your bank vault, or in fact more.

For a long time (before Huge Bags in the Store), my Gem collector had a small, medium and large bag, since all the varieties would not quite fit otherwise. There are more collectibles in the game than slots in a single Large Bag too.
