TRYING to return to this game, will not patch

Hi, there are 5 of us attempting to come back to this game.

We cannot update the game. This can't possibly be an issue on our side since we all get the same error with 5 different PCs.

We've tried installing from the original DVD and the download installation with the same thing.

We all get the error:

We've scoured the forums and google for solutions and tried all of them that are related to this hash code error to no avail. And since we all get the exact same thing and all different pcs, it really seems like there has to be a corrupt file on your side or something.

Needless to say, we are extremely disappointed in this and are rethinking our decision to play this game again. Can someone please look into this issue?

The hash code error can come up on occasion if there's any internet browsing safety software (eg. NetNanny, Safe-Eyes etc) installed or in some cases a spam filtering/blocking program for email.

I was having the same issue on my macbook pro that I just recently reformat the windows side and reloaded DDO onto it from from the original DVD. I got the same hash code problem. This was a clean install of Windows XP SP2 nothing else on except for apple drivers for the macbook. No virus-scanner, and the Windows Firewall was configured to allow the dndlauncher, dndclient, and turbinelauncher.

Mine was have the error with installing the /browser files.

I tried to delete the patches, forward browser, and backup folders too. This still did not work. What did work was I had another PC desktop that had a working install of DDO on it. I copied the browser folder from the working system over to the laptop. The launcher continued and patched the rest of the system happily.

Of note, I also copied over the client_x.dat files from the working system. These are the game files. There are around 6Gb in size together. The patching was having issues on just the program files, always stopping on the PatchWrapperPS.dll

I wish you luck in getting up and running. I can only write my own experience in this. It was very frustrating with the patching error. Forum searching did not really help in either of our instances.

I ended up unistalling eveyrthing and then starting fresh here......it worked like a charm. I wish that maybe they would have pointed me in this direction instead of me having to find in in another thread.

I would also like to add that on my laptop, I did have an install of Windows 7 (hence the reinstall of XP). DDO did update fine on that. That was several weeks ago now though. Pre Lammania.

same problem.... was thinking of switching from WoW. This problem, combined with the lack of live technical support has me thinking I will NOT be continuing my subscription here.

I do not have NetNanny. I have disabled all antivirus, anti-spyware, etc.. and firewall as well, for the update process. I can't play the game if I can't run it!!!!!! If I ever do get this running, I think it would be appropriate to reset my month.

and Verizon FIOS is my ISP.
I have successfully installed this and run the update on another PC in the same house, on the same ISP, unfortunately the graphics card is not strong enough on that PC for the game to be playable.

*I have uninstalled and started from scratch after cleaning off some malware I found, thinking the malware was the problem. Ran the update on the clean machine with a fresh install, with all AV's turned off and STILL not working.*

I got the same problem I am brand new thinking of switchign from WoW and i cant get the game running.
Comp comes up clean for viruses, unblocked everything on the firewall and it wont get past the updating programs part:

The only solution that I have found that works reliably is to download DDO with Mod 8 already in it. Somone found this link to download DDO with Mod 8 already part of it:

Just download and installed that and you should be good to go.

i have been having trouble patching DDO, and this is my second time downloading it, but my launcher claims i have no internet connection, but, clearly i have just downloaded it, it is rather an annoyance and although the games looks good, i am almost ready to just stop trying, is there like some sort of way to reroute it?, as say if it goes through internet explorer, is there a way to go through Firefox/ safari etc?,as I've been having this problem with several games lately, and mostly due to internet explorer problems, with this game particularly, I've had this problem for about a month now, I've never realy even gotten to play the game yet


please let me know when the problem is fixed, or, weather there is a way to swap connection points
