I have a pure fighter (scimitar) using Kensie character...but I want to make a hybrid dual wielding rogue/ranger/fighter.
The main problem is when to take my levels.....I'm trying to figure out the best way to take them including skill point distribution and bonus feats etc.
Rogue as level 1 for sure...and probably ranger as level 2.
After that gets a bit dicey. I'm thinking I want to get ram's might asap though...so maybe ranger from lvl 2-5.
The advantage of taking another ranger lvl at 6 would be +2 ranger dex....and another favored enemy (giants which I'll be fighting alot around then).
I won't have evasion till I take my second rogue level....but I also want to take my last ranger lvel before 12 so I have ITWF and can get GTWF right away.
So it all gets a bit wonky because of that. Charcater is human btw.
Rogue lvl 1: Feats toughness and power attack
Ranger lvl 2-5: Feat weapon focus slashing
Ranger level 6-7: Feat dodge
Rogue lvl 8
Fighter lvl 9: Feat improved crit slashing & mobility
Fighter lvl 10: Spring Attack
Fighter lvl 12: Greater 2 weapon focus & weapon specialization slashing
Fighter lvl 14:OTWF
Fighter lvl 15: Exotic Weapon Khopesh
Fighter lvl 16: Greater Weapon Focus
Fighter lvl 18: Two Weapon Defense & Mental Toughness (or extend/ SF DT etc)
Fighter lvl 20: Greater Weapon Specialization
That leaves ALL the fighter levels front loaded at the end though...which will hurt my skill points massively allowing me to only keep Disarm Trap and UMD maxed easily.
If I hold off on the ranger levels and second rogue level I could max out my search and mostly my spot that way but it throws everything else off a bit.
An alternate would be:
Rogue lvl 1: Feats toughness and power attack ( 40 points)
Ranger lvl 2-5: Feat weapon focus slashing (32 points)
Fighter lvl 6: Feat dodge & mobility (4 points)
Ranger lvl 7: (8 points)
Fighter lvl 8: Spring Attack
Fighter lvl 9: Improved Critical Slashing
Fighter lvl 10: Weapon Spec Slashing (15 points with +2 int tome)
Ranger lvl 11: (9 points)
Fighter lvl 12: GTWF
Fighter lvl 13: OTWF (10 points)
Rogue lvl 14: Evasion (11 points)
Fighter lvl 15: Exotic weapon Khopesh
Fighter lvl 16: Two weapon Defense
Fighter lvl 18: Greater Weapon Focus & Mental toughness/extend etc
Fighter lvl 20: Greater weapon specialization (30 points)
The advantage of the second method is skill point distribution will be spread out a bunch more. My human has only 12 base int +2 tome at lvl 7 (just started the character). I end up with 159 skill points all together.
During Ranger levels I can max search and spot (2 points) and Disarm Traps and UMD (4 points) with 1 skill point left (jump).
Fighter levels are when it gets harsh with only 4 points initially and later 5 points to spend. 4 points is enough to max UMD and Disarm Traps only. The trick will be to max out search during the ranger/rogue levels at least up till lvl 14. I can put 1/2 a point into search each fighter level past lvl 7 (so all but ..although it really only makes sense to do it for 10 of the 12 fighter levels since .5 by itself won't help.
By ranger lvl 11 my search will be 2 under max...but I will get 9 skill points. With that I can pump search 3 points, DT and UMD 1 point (4) and still have 2 points to put into spot
Then I have 2 fighter levels giving me 10 points to spend with a rogue level at 14. I can max DT and UMD and put 2 points into jump for those levels.
At 14 I get 11 skill points which lets me max search (3 points), UMD and DT (2 points) Spot (3 points) and toss 3 points into open locks (should be enough with items to open most everything with HV). DT/UMD then would be maxed each level after that and Search would get the .5 points....maxing out 3 points less then max at 20 (should still be enough with HV and search item).
I think that is the way I will go
