quest reset?

My guild has a holloween challenge to complete dead predators on hard solo while PC lvl is between 4-8.

After 2 deaths re-entry was impossible as the quest did reset.

Why?

I have died several times in other quests to not have it reset.

There are 3 ways that a dungeon is reset.

i) No one stays inside for longer than 5 minutes. If you are soloing, you only have 5 minutes to run and get back into the dungeon before it resets. If you were in a full party, usually 1 player stays dead while the other 5 people all come back in together so they can take longer than 5 minutes if they want.

ii) When you died, it caused an objective to be failed. This means when you leave the dungeon, because you have failed an objective, the quest resets.

iii) While the party has recalled, the members of the party decide to break group and form again. This will reset a dungeon. This obviously doesn't affect you if you are playing solo.

the time was not a factor as i ran back immediately. I can only assume it was the hireling that I had. After it expired i was able to renenter.

if it's a solo challenge wouldnt using a hireling be duoing it?
