    Default True Reincarnation with Enhancments

    True Reincarnate

The idea provides an excellent opportuntity for additional character development. However the current proposed format has much to be desired. Many people want to be able to retain some of the flavour of their previous character and integrate it into their new one. The devs have tried this to some degree with the proposed feats, these feats have to be ballanced against other feats and as a result provide no real flavour or benefit and does not do anything at all for preserving anything to do with the previous race at all.

The problem is that trying to combine it all into a single feat will not work and most player based suggestions create over powered feats that while add some flavour tend to be unbalanced.

Fortunately DDO has someting PNP does not have and that is enhancments. Enhancements could be used quite easily to provide a balanced addition to the reincarnation process as follows:

    Racial Memory

Unlocks previous races Tier 1 (per times reincarnated as that race eg tier 2 if twices as that race) enhancements, or if the same race again gains a bonus reduction in cost of 1 pt per time reincarnated as that race, effectively becoming a paragon of it, to a minimum cost of 1pt per enhancment.

    Class Memory

Unlocks previous classes Tier 1 (per times reincarnated as that class eg tier 2 if twice as that class) enhancements or if the same class again gains a bonus reduction in cost of 1pt per time reincarnated as that class, effectively using their previous lifes experiece to learn things easier.

Neither of these things cost feats and are automatic.

The Racial bonus could be made avaialble to non reincarnated characters by a feat such as (Racial Upbring/Training) allowing for a more diverse character development.

PRC could also be accessed this way but should block development in current class PRC while using it, ie no tier 1 tempest tier 3 Kensais, they would have the option of becoming a tempest tier 1 at level 6 but may drop it latter in favour of Tier 2 or 3 or even 1 Kensai if they prefer (Kensai and Tempest only being used as an obvious example)

Obviously there would need to be some further considerations but would allow for much further character diversity.

Well I would DEFINITELY prefer something along these lines to the current Beta system of past Life Feats... or perhaps even have BOTH and let people *choose* ??

This is a great idea becaouse it benefits both those who reincarnate as the same class/race and those who do not. Unlike the current **** system which forces you to play other classes in order to be optimal in your chosen class.

The whole point of reincarnating as opposed to simply re rolling is that you should gain some benefit from your previous race and class regardless. This I believe while still rough provides a better approach.

    Thumbs up

    This is kind of yummy.

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with swords."

Wow noinfo that's really well thought out if i knew how to +rep i'd rep you (i think i have to have a certain amount of rep points first) I'm sure the devs would have to tweak it a bit to work (code limitations, too OP,etc.) but overall a really great idea that would actually give me a reason to TR instead of just making a new char(If I ever make it to 20 lol). One Issue I can think of would be will the past life enhancements stack or not

One thing I'd suggest is the "OPTION" to take the bonuses/reductions of your previous race and add them to whatever race you choose for your TR. I figure this would be as well as the +2 bonus because most racial mods are +2 anyway defeating the purpose (and your getting the penalty too)

    ie. A dwarf (+2 Con &--2 Cha) that is TRing into a Warforged (+2 CON & -2 WIS/CHA) would get +4 Con, -4 Cha and -2 Wis

Also I'm going to guess that the class you'd get is your highest class ie a 11wiz/9rogue would get only wiz enhancements (similar to the current past life setup)....hmm i wonder wat a 10/10 would be...maybe Player choice

First thing I thought of was a Utility Wizard (with maybe a rogue splash) Taking master mechanic PRC tier 1 would really help or a warforged wiz formerly a halfling uh...rogue could really benefit from Halfling dex 1...and I'm sure many others.

All I know is if I max out my Halfling rogue/fighter or my warforged wizard I'll probably TR to a pally (they can use all the bonus build points they can get lol) IF this is what they do.

The way I saw it was that there would be no overt change to race stat bonuses as such. ie wf/dwarf would be the same at +2 however since they share con as an enhancement the cost to buy would be cheaper at 1 ap instead of 2.

Along the same line a human who was an elf in a previous life would get no stat advantage however would get the option to purchase 1 level of dex in addtion as part of his elven spirit comes forth with experience.

As for if the enhancements should stack, I believe they should within the limits described.
