Default Think this would work...I'd call him "The Funk" 18/2 Fighter Monk

So, I have been toying with the idea of making a Kensai III, drow, 18/2 Fighter/Monk. He would be a robe wearing, TWF, rapier wielding, Intimidate build. ***Edit...looks like somebody posted a similar build earlier today. I feel so unoriginal (Though not a drow build)****

    Start stats would be:

    Str 15
    Dex 16
    Int 12
    Con 12
    Wis 14
    Cha 10

I'm thinking drow for a couple reasons. You get the higher Int (add a +1 tome and I will end up with CE), you get higher Char (gonna help with intimidate) and the drow weapon line. (Kensai will be with rapiers) Elf dex and the spell resistance.

With fighter strength, monk wisdom, elf dex, items and tomes...end game stats (without exceptional items) should be.

    Str 26 (15 +3 tome +2 Fighter Strength +2 stat increases +6 item)
    Dex 28 (16 +3 tome +2 elf dex +6 item +1 stat increase +6 item)
    Int 13 (12 +1 tome)
    Con 20 (12 +2 tome +6 item)
    Wis 24 (14 +3 tome +1 monk wis +6 item)
    Char 18 (10 +2 tome +6 item)

I'm not a wiz at all the possibilities, but as I look at AC, I am thinking self-buff should be easily 60ish. Raid buff 80ish. Best guess:

    10 base
    8 bracers
    7 wisdom
    9 Dex
    5 CE
    5 Protection
    4 Icy Raiment
    3 Bark
    1 Haste
    4 Shield Clickie
    1 TWD
    1 Alchemical
    1 Dodge
    3 Insight
    ____
    62 Self

    +2 Ranger Bark
    +5 Pally Aura
    +5 AC song
    +3 Recitation
    +4 Madstone
    ______

    81 Raid buffed

I was playing with several different planning options but I should be able to get.

    TWF
    ITWF
    GTWF
    OTWF
    IC Pierce
    WS Pierce
    GWS pierce
    CE
    Power Attack
    Toughness x2

Then the drow enhancements to rapier + the kensai bonuses (+6 to hit, +10 to damage, improved crit range to 14-20.)

I purposefully left strength on the lower side because I figure on getting the madstone boots, regular rage and the kensai enhancement to str (although I realize this is a boost). During a boosted period, with no exceptional strength added, I would be looking at a 40 Str (not double madstoned...and potentially 44 str double...)

The other obvious advantages to the build are evasion, drow spell resistance, and the better will saves with the higher wisdom.

End game HP should be around 500-550 HP. (Hard to tell for sure with the builder and all the stuff that goes along with HP these days)

With Kensai, badger enhancement (monk) and items, intimidate would very good. With a +15 item, somewhere near 60.

There are so many variables in the game now that it is difficult to even crunch more numbers. Everything you see is going off game experience and a lot of "winging" it. I would really like to hear what the build experts think about the viability of this build.

    Thanks!!!

You need the weapon focus feats. You cannot take weapon specialization without them, and superiour weapon focus is a pre for Kensai III.

Dump one of the thoughness feats. One Thoughness is a must-have, the second is wasted.

On the HP issue. At 20 Con endgame your looking at roughly 481 hp w/o Madstone or Scourge max.

    20 con = 316 hp
    +2 exceptional con = 20 hp
Yugoloth favor pots Essense of Desire = 40 hp (lowers -1 Fort, -2 Reflex, -2 Will saves)
+2 Lasting Elixer Bear stamina from DDO store = 20 hp
    GFL= 30 hp
    Shroud hp item= 45 hp
Draconic Vitality (GH Favor) = 10 hp
    ______________________
    481 hp

Madstone 2= 80 hp 2 min. Keep in mind Madstone will not stack with your Barkskin from pots and rangers so I wouldnt use that in your AC calculations. And Recite is only +2 I believe and Bard song in +4 not 5.

    561 Situational

Scourge, (though unlikley, I seldom see BR 4 when tanking bosses)
Bloodrage 4 = 80 hp very short term.

As a general Fighter, intimi mobs w/o item sb fine. As Main tank, intimi or AC tank I wouldnt recomend imo. Just depends on what you want the main roll to be.

Thanks! I really hadn't completely figured HP out. I got it in the planner and knew it was in the 300s, but I did the same with one of my paladins and was around 400, but I actually have nearly 600...
Did you figure in Fighter and Racial Toughness?

I don't know that 481 is enough HP to do intimitanking...even with an 80ish AC. Hopefully it will be a bit higher. Gonna have to look at it.

Cruddy typing on my part. I wrote WS (Weapons Specialization) and I meant weapon focus. I hit it up in a planner, but didn't have it up when I tried to recall the stats.

I had the full piercing line with the feats given. It also seemed like I had ample action points, but maybe I didn't include some things I will end up wanting.

    Thanks for the advice!

    26 str and u can add +1 from a +4 tome, +1 from ftr str III, +3 from exceptional = 31. add surge +8, rage +2, double madstone +4 = 45
