Default Stalwart Defender Stance Move Speed...

Is awesome, for dramatic effect. Sorry, I just got a kick out of sloooowly charging a group of hill giants at a speed that made me look just downright intimidating (like a slow motion heroic moment in an action movie), and then turtling up to tank 6 of them at once for a while.

That's all I had to say.

Oh, and SD, combined with improved shield bash, combined with improved trip... Rocks.

    Nice.

Take some ranks in tumble. Then you could choose between two silly images: The slow-mo tank, and the suit of armor and shield rolling menacingly at the monsters!

Haha, yeah, that would be a fun one to see. "It's the Dwarven Armadillo!" But alas, I'd have to put a LOT of points into tumble just to get out of the negatives.

Just imagine having absurdly high tumble and doing FLIPS with tumble as an armored tank... Now THAT would be an interesting sight!

Go into The Reaver. Get a charge. Do flips! It is quite a sight. And FUN!

As for ranks...it doesn't take much for simple tumbling--I put a few points into tumble on my capped dwarven intimitank. 2 ranks + 5 Dex +5 item (Striding 30% +5 tumble) +2 Head of Good Fortune = 14, which is more than enough to overcome the ACP on DT armor and the Levik's Shield. Obviously a non-mithral tower would be harder, but it's doable.

Or, just get someone to cast Tumble on you. I know that I carry it all the time on my wizard after I get my 5th lvl 1 spell (and sometimes sooner).

Oh yeah my fighter gets a KICK out of the movement speed.

My catchphrase is "Here comes the Baywatch man to attack!"

Why is your fighter running around in a Speedo?
