As to response to mekkah's post, yes I am aware it is probably an irrational thought. its overall frusteration of the pugging gone to total...well gone i guess

and yes, I have found myself being rejected and even dismissed from parties lately without warning or reason. my friends list has been replaced with a list of people with comments such as "do not group with"...

that being said, hope nobody thinks I am an ass for posting this thread. actually I'd like to delete it or close it if i was able to.

very often those are groups of friends who use that as a tool to form up more easily ("ok, everyone grab what you want and hit my LFM") or for reforming ("ok, round 2 of hound, grab your next char and hit the LFM")

It's an appropriate use of the grouping tab and you are taking offense over nothing

Just restating myself, I could very well be over reacting and may be bitter for no rational reason, maybe just frustrated in general and want to rant on something. logging on an average of 3+ hours a day and not gaining a single level in over a week can be..not so fun.

Sounds like you spend a lot of time looking at the lfm page waiting for a group to do a quest on your list. Put up your own lfm and lead your own sloppy PuG like the rest of us do. You will feel better and have something to really rant about when you are beseeched by the pileons and pikers of the world as they destroy your faith in human intellegence one quest at a time.

Just blame Bart. Thats what we do. Just yesterday I was getting a speeding ticket and told the cop it was all Bart's fault. The cop said, "Bart? You know that ass? Well that is punishment enough. Carry on."

Unreasonably bitter. It makes forming guild/friend groups soooooooo much easier, as there's always 1-2 people who are on an alt in a different guild (and therefore not in the guild list). And, of course, if you're doing the invitations, you end up with "is that Drizzzzzt with 4 z's or 5?"

Guilty as charged. I am one of those raid leaders that puts up Private in my LFM. We use it for Abbot reforms. Puzzles go bad, LFM for quick reform. Initial formation is via guild list typically, subsequent reforms we use the LFM tool.

Just because it sais Private, doesn't mean you can't send a polite tell to the leader asking if it doesn't fill with guildies, if you could come along. I get that all the time when doing this.

For the first week or so of puzzle practice, we were not bringing PUG's with us. This was a time for the Guild to get to know who was good at what puzzle, and allow the time needed for them to get used to the ones they felt were right for them. Those that sent tells, were very understanding of it and asked that we keep them in mind when we felt we had it "down".

Recently we have been bringing a few PUG's with us. Those people I was turning away initially, are starting to make it in. Abbot is now in our primary raid schedule, mutiple completions when timers are up.

well first of of all let me say I've been guilty myself on both sides of this ....and the real problem I see here is not the LFM tab no matter what it says "no noobs" no pilons" no muppets" "no p2p" "friends before pugs" or the private one that got the op in a bunch

those aren't the problem

the problem is thinking that you or I or anyone else has a RIGHT to a grp just becasue there is a LFM up for our lvl, class, and a quest we deemed we need or want to do


now if someone takes it upon him or her self to put a lfm up they can deceide who they want and not want to take. period . that's it. those cute little tags private , no muppets ect.. are just to cut down on the party window going ding ding ding

as I stated I have been guilty of this myself I got into it w/ gaxpar once casue he didn't want to take one of my rogues for a shroud... I got upset formed my own party and this huge mess followed .... the problem was I got mad casue I deemed his no thanks I want a barb or fighter rather than a rogue as disrespect.... the bottom line is even if my rogue did do more damage it was his party he doesn't want a rogue that his choice to make...I shouldn't of gotten upset but hey we're all stupid sometimes.....

the point is a party leader has the right to say yay or nay

you have to live w/ it ....you could always try to start your own partys or maybe get into a guild that parties more ...... but OP you need to get over it ... I know it's hard been there myself it was just a party no big deal you do not have a right to be every grp that posts a LFM ....you just have to deal w/ it

and all of the reasons listed are valid, except that up until now, all of those reasons were placed in the LFM.

reform, or folks from last run first, stuff like that is usually added. not just private.

there have been a few LFM problems since mod 9 launched in my opinion, such as new players not knowing how to (or being lazy, but i give them the benefit of the doubt) change the level range so we would have 10-15 LFMs up for levels 1-20 for korthos quests.

most of the private lfm's are for easy reforming, or friends who are logging different toons to do the quest...but i do agree with you...the lfm's are a useful tool that hasn't been used properly since Mod 9 came out....I constantly recieve blind invites from people who don't even have an LFM posted....
