That's hard to say. It all depends on how you go about it. If you have someone who can open all quests on elite and let you pike it could take a few days. If your a casual player it could take you months, if your a power gamer a couple of weeks.

depends how often you play, as it stands now you can get 1750 by lvl 12 if you do all the quests to that point on elite.

Depends on how much you play, and how you play. If you systematically go up the list for favor, and dedicate yourself to getting there, you should be able to get there relatively quickly. Relatively meaning there is a big time difference between someone who plays 10 hours a week, and someone who plays 80.

    Weeks to months to years.

It really depends on how you play and how much you play. If you are playing a number of characters or just focus on the one to get to 1750 with. I have characters that will be turning 4 years old next year that only recently passed 1000 favor, since I do not play them as often (usually pull them out when friends are passing thru those level ranges and need want help.)

I tend to play a lot of different characters as my mood suits me. See sig below.

I think we could hit it by L10 as I remember people grinding for it before GH came out.

And since they have added some low level content since then, you might even technically be able to get it lower.

Is it better to just run a quest on elite, or do them in order... i.e. Solo, Normal, Hard, Elite to max out favor?

If you want the favor as fast as possible, then going straight to Elite is the best way. If you're going for xp as well, then I'd suggest going every step to maximize XP.

Ah, ok, so favor isn't cumulative then? You only get the max amount?

I have six 1750 toons. I track all the quests my charaters run (I'm in information management), and it takes about 400 quests. I usually advance the difficulty and don't often run quests at the same level for xps.

I look at it as a long-term goal, and don't work real hard at it, so I'm sure that number could be lowered.

One extreme: Never. There are people who don't care about favor, or just don't play enough.

Other extreme: Hit it in 19 hours of playtime, on a lvl 2 character, using a dual box cleric/caster. My second account still has this 1750 lvl 2 cleric

As you can see, it really depends on how often you play, how fast you zerg. Worst case, it will be available in the store shortly.

Exactly, you only get favor for the highest level you run. That is why skipping normal/hard and going right to elite is the quickest way to get favor.

Yes that is correct. Only the max amount given on elite counts...

It is like going to a museum and bragging about how fast you made it through. Or bragging about how fast you finished a good steak.

Correct, and that is something that is not completely clear when players start due to a few factors.

Normal run gives you 3 points of Favor. Run that same quest on hard and you end up with 6 points of Favor (but it is not clear weather it just added 3 points to get you to 6 or you get 6 points for hard period and it overwrote the Normal Favor award - which is what happened.)

    Normal Run = X favor
    Hard run = 2X favor
    Elite run = 3X favor.

The largest award appears on the chart and totals.

The quickest way to earn favor is to just run each quest once on elite, but that also requires someone in the party have the quest completed on at least hard to do that.

I know people power through favor after their first character using guildies, friends, dual-boxes, multiple machines, etc. They can get the 1750 favor in 2 or 3 days.

I'm sitting at ~1640 right now on Cannith having played since it went live. I'll hit 1750 sometime this week if I get off the forums and start playing.

Most VIP players should be able to get 1750 favor somewhere between level 12 and 16 if they don't farm quests for XP but run different, level appropriate, quests thru elite while leveling up.

Yeah, my first 32 point build was already capped when GH came out. 1750 was doable after mod 3, but very difficult. I hit 1750 when 3.1 came out, and many people got it with the 3.2 content.
