Leveling and Rank Question

I am currently Lvl 7 with 2 ranks in it. so In three ranks.. I'll be lvl 8 and haven't got my sigil yet.. not nervous yet, though.

Buuut, should I reach lvl 8... and no sigil what happens? does my Exp still work towards 9.. granting me up to 4 more ranks (of AP's).. but what happens for next rank? I can't actually be lvl 9...so do I stop getting AP's. do I stop getting XP?

I don't really get the Level Cap limit thing.. I used to play PnP but never had that issue occur since players just leveled when qualified and didn't need sigils..

Basically what happens when your XP exceeds level requirement. Do you stop gaining ranks..

you can get xp till lvl+2-1xp means if you are rdy to lvl to 8, you stop gaining xp 1 xp befor lvl10
so its not that bad if you dont find your sigil befor you get the lvl
thoguh you dont get the aps for lvl 8.1, 8.2, etc. those you get all at once then once you take your lvl

ahhh THANKS! I was hoping those AP's wouldn't be lost.. so if I say get lvl 10-1 xp then find a sigil and pop to lvl 10.. I'll also get like 8 AP's and skill points x2 levels worth.. Sweet thanks. I guess I shoulda guessed this much, but was'nt sure how DDO worked in this regards

Any level 4-8 quest has a chance of dropping it.
